Friday Finds – Last Recommendations in April

Hello Avid Readers,

I hope you’re ready for the final Friday Finds post of April! My fellow bloggers have been voracious readers this week, filling my inbox  with some great reviews. I’ve been browsing the blogosphere myself lately and found a few new book blog; looks like my inbox is about to get a whole lot fuller. 😉

If you are one of my lovely new followers let me just take a moment to explain. I like to read, my favourite genre is paranormal romance but I’ve also been known to curl up with the odd urban fantasy or paranormal cozy mystery too. But it’s a big wide literary world out there and I decided back in January that you, my dear followers, might be interested in the reviews about books from other genres to help you find your next favourite book. Ta!Da! My weekly Friday Finds post was born.

Here are some non-paranormal romance books that fellow book bloggers enjoyed reading (in no particular order).

Review: Fractured – Jack L. Pyke from Paranormal Romance Guild

Yes OK, I know I said no paranormal romance but the Paranormal Romance Guild are a group who actually read other genres too, so shush and let me continue. 😉 Each review has a different feel as the guild has so many reviewers on staff and this review is of a intriguing thriller mystery with a male/male love interest (which is something that I haven’t dipped my toes into yet).

The Dead Queens Club by Hannah Capin from All The Book Blog Names Are Taken

Sarah is a big fan of all things historic and although her passion is non-fiction she does get lost in a novel from time to time. I like her writing style and find her posts easy to read and always enjoyable; she really enjoyed this book and I couldn’t help but be caught up in her enthusiasm!

Audiobook Review: In Her Sights by Katie Ruggle from EBook Obsessed

Lucy’s site is full of reviews, author interviews and book promotions. Even when she’s not enamoured with a book she’s read, her reviews are always worth the time to read. Oh, and she also kindly gives away her paperback ARCs every Friday! Lucy’s not the only blogger I trust to have raved about this book, so there must be something to all the hype. Lol!

Callie’s Ghost | LITERARY TITAN from Literary Titan

If you don’t know, Literary Titan are a group of discerning reviewers that seem to find independent published works in every genre. Their blog has over 3,000 followers alone! This title warranted a 5 star review – not something that happens very often – and it even got me thinking I might step out of my genre comfort zone and buy it.

And finally is a blogger that I’ve just started following.

Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens from KayCKay Book Reviews

An avid reader, this amazing book blogger read 217 books in 2018! 217!! She listens to audiobooks confesses to opening up the Kindle app to read books just about any moment she has! I love the way she sets out her pros and cons for each book she tells us about and I look forward to reading many more engaging reviews in the future!

So, that’s my picks for this week. I hope you find a moment or two to click at least one of these reviews yourself – who knows you may just find your next favourite author!

Before I go, I just wanted to remind you that the current Audible trial is a great way for you to try an audiobook for FREE – you could choose an audio version of one of the books mentioned above!

As you can tell from my reviews and those from my blogging friends, we’re “reading” more and more books like this and find it a relaxing but more immersive experience. If you sign up today for a month it’s easy to cancel AND any audiobooks you download are yours to keep forever, even if you cancel!

If you live in the UK, check out the free trial here and if you live across the pond in America click here. (I am part of the Amazon Associates program which means if you use the Amazon links to subscribe to the trial, I will get a (very) small % from the sale.)

Hope you have a good weekend and manage to read (or listen to) a great story.

Happy Reading!

  1. Great idea for a post! I feel like my reading tastes are literally all over the place…I read a little of everything. Sometimes I wonder if that turns people off from reading my blog, since I don’t review just a specific genre. I try not to let it worry me too much though!
