Good morning my lovelies,
Sundays are the perfect day for me to sit back and catch up on life – both on and off the blog – so I’ve decided to write a monthly round up post today and link it up to The Sunday Post, a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Reviewer. See rules here: Sunday Post Meme.
The Sunday Post is a chance for us to share news, to recap the past week on our blogs and showcase books and things we have received. To share with you what is coming up on our blogs for the week ahead and don’t forget, this meme is also the perfect opportunity to check out other bloggers and read some great blogs. So, once you’ve read my post, why don’t you hop along to some of the other amazing blogs taking part in this week’s The Sunday Post.
So what have I been up to this month?
We’ve had Easter and a lovely long weekend. The weather started off a bit temperamental but pulled it off in the end with some warmer, sunny days. It’s always nice to have the time to spend these precious moments with my family and catch up with friends.
I’ve been browsing the blogosphere much more this month too and I’ve found lots of lovely new (to me) blogs to follow. It’s keeping me busy and I was worried that I was spending more time on other blogs than I was on my own. However, writing this post has set my mind at ease – I haven’t abandoned you, dear followers, I actually published quite a few posts this month…
- A final update on a completed March Reading Challenge – Cosplay Cuties
- Some interesting posts re-blogged from around the blogosphere – Helpful audiobook tips ~ Helpful tips about ARCs ~ An aspect of reading I hadn’t considered
- My weekly Friday Finds posts –5th April~12th April ~ 19th April ~ 26th April
- And finally lots of book reviews: Dark Alpha’s Claim by Donna Grant ~ Pecan Pies and Dead Guys by Angie Fox ~ Shadows in the Mist by Jeri Westerson ~ Touch of Smoke by Karissa Laurel ~ Hidden Blade by Pippa DaCosta ~ Covet by Felicity Heaton
I’ve been planning what I want to share with you next month, some of my ideas have come to fruition and I’ve added a few posts already to my schedule…
- New Book Releases
- Author interviews and Spotlight posts
- A final updates on the completed April reading challenge
- More weekly Friday Finds posts
- and of course, lots of book reviews!
If you’ve been following me for a while, you’ll know that I take part in the Goodreads Annual Reading Challenge and have also joined in with challenges from the book groups I belong to. Good grief! What was I thinking?! Lol!
As you know, I review books on this blog that I’ve bought, as well as ARCs (Advance or Early Reader Copy) that I’ve received from authors or publishers both directly and through NetGalley. (I’ve finally got my NetGalley addiction under control.) But I thought that I’d share with you the ARCs that are still on my TBR list.
These books aren’t being released until June, so I’ve still got plenty of time to read them. *phew* Thanks to the wonderful authors, publishers and NetGalley for the opportunities they give me to read books and feed my reading addiction! 😉
And finally this made me smile; it’s why I publish book reviews and I just had to share it with you.
So, now you’ve read my post, why don’t you hop along to some of the other amazing blogs taking part in this week’s The Sunday Post. If you’re taking part too, don’t forget to leave your comment below with a link to your Sunday Post so I can visit your blog and check out what you’ve been up to.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
Bye for now. x
Welcome to the Sunday Post! Your reading challenges sound like lots of fun- I need to be more active over there and do some of the neat reading events and whatnot!

Thanks for the warm welcome, Greg. I do enjoy the reading challenges that my groups set; only problem is, they’re too addictive. Sometimes I think they’re deliberately tempting me to grow my TBR pile! Lol!

Thanks for visiting my Sunday post today! I don’t think I’ve ever been to yours yet 🙂 it’s cute! I love the changing gradient colors on your headlines! Congrats on getting NetGalley under control – I’m still struggling with that 😀

Thanks Evelina. This is my first Sunday Post. My NetGalley habit is an ever present addiction Lol! Luckily they haven’t got many adult PNR that are available to me at the moment. Fate helping me out? 😉

Exactly 😀 it’s funny but there’s also sometimes good in the fact that you don’t get approved for all the titles your request 😀 if you tend to request too much xD

It’s hard to resist Netgalley! Glad to hear you’ve got it under control. Oh, yes, I’m Team Spike so yay for being on his team in your Vampire Wars. I’m not sure what that is, but anything with Spike sounds good to me, lol! 🙂

Oh yes it is. 😉 Vampire Wars is a reading challenge where books are worth points (blood drops) when you’ve finished reading it, it earns you points for your team. There is also a weekly bonus if the plot is something specified at random each week. You can also earn points if the cover of your book read has a particular weapon on it, again chosen randomly. I don’t know how long the challenge lasts but I love that I’m Team Spike. 😉
Thanks for visiting, Rachel

I’ve been lurking around Kimberley’s meme for a couple of weeks (The Caffeinated Reviewer is a blog I’ve followed for a while) and this week I decided to take the plunge and actually join in by posting myself.

I know, Tina, it’s so dangerous. Luckily there don’t seem to be as many books in my favourite genre of adult paranormal romance on NetGalley at the moment *phew* breathing space. Lol!

I loved Spike from Buffy! Do you know he does audiobook narration now? He did Lord of Shadows and Queen of Air and Darkness by Cassandra Clare and I absolutely adored it!

Yes, he also narrates The Dresden Files by Jim Butcher. I’ve listened to the first 2 books and think James nails it!

Hi Flora 🙂 I’ve been eyeing The Dark Protector Series by Rebecca Zanetti! I’ve heard great things about it, and really enjoyed her Sin Brothers Series! I want to get more involved in reading challenges this year, and it looks like you are doing a lot of different ones. How fun! I’m glad you had a great Easter!!! Happy Reading!

I always tend to overdo it on the reading challenges too! So many books, so little time…though this year has so far been MUCH better than last year. Good luck!

You are doing so many challenges, oh dear. I already feel kind of overwhelmed with the few I am doing throughout the year. But your list? Respect! Thank you for sharing your books. They look good and I hope you will have fun reading them.
Best wishes
