Friday Finds – Book Reviews Just For You

Hello Fellow Readers,

It’s my first Friday Finds post of May! My fellow bloggers have been voracious readers this week, filling my inbox  with some great reviews – even when they’ve not enjoyed the book they were reading. 😉

If you are one of my new followers let me just take a moment to explain. I like to read, my favourite genre is paranormal romance but I’ve also been known to curl up with the odd urban fantasy or paranormal cozy mysteries too. 😉 But it’s a big wide literary world out there and I decided back in January that you, my dear followers, might be interested in the reviews about books from the other genres; after all, I want to help you find your next favourite book. Ta!Da! My weekly Friday Finds post was born.

Here are some non-paranormal romance books that fellow book bloggers enjoyed reading (in no particular order).

The Last Year of the War by Susan Meissner from Caffeinated Reviewer

Kimberly is a self proclaimed audiobook junkie, avid reader and coffee drinker. She doesn’t limit herself to just reading one genre but I reads books from young adult to hot and steamy romances with a healthy love of a good horror or Zombie book.

Review: The Lost History of Dreams by Kris Waldherr from

Anne Mendez usually reviews books in the historical fiction genre, including all the sub-genres, e.g. mystery, thriller, romance, etc. and although this is a genre I rarely read myself, I always enjoy her thoughts and I’m almost tempted to dip my toe into the historical pool.

Flesh – Richard Laymon from Duke De Richleau’s Nocturnal Revelries

As I’ve said before, I always make the time to read the articles from this blog because even if I’d never actually read the books he talks about, I love his irreverent reviewing style and his obvious research into these occult areas. I do remember reading horror of this nature when I was in my teens… not sure if I could stomach it now! Lol!

REVIEW: The Invited by Jennifer McMahon from Thrill Me. Chill Me.

Julie is definitely an eclectic reader, but psychological thrillers and mysteries seem to be her favourites. Her reviews are well written, informative and her writing style makes them very easy to read.

And finally is a fabulous blogger that I’ve just started following…

Early Review: THE BRIDE TEST by Helen Hoang from The Bookish Libra

Suzanne is a proofreader by day, book blogger by night and a devourer of books 24/7. She loves reading most genres; contemporary and historical, adult and YA, and has confessed to also enjoying more and more fantasy lately. Her hobbies include: buying and hoarding of books, rambling about books to anyone who will listen and trying to recommend books to her family and friends.

So, that’s my picks for this week. I hope you find a moment or two to click at least one of these reviews yourself – who knows you may just find your next favourite author!

Hope you have a good weekend and manage to read (or listen to) a great story.

Happy Reading!

x
