Hello Avid Readers,
Sometimes, when I read a book I don’t write a full review, I just write a paragraph or two to publish on Amazon and Goodreads; especially if it’s a book with thousands of reviews already. But I want to build up my blog to be THE place to go to for paranormal romance fans, so I should really post those smaller reviews on here too, right?
So with that in mind, today, I want to share my thoughts about…
Book 1 Forbidden Hunger ~ 4 Stars
A shifter without a pack, Janna Lawson goes in search of the man who her mother died trying to protect. What she finds is Garrett Foster, a man who has the power to decide her fate and causes a hunger inside her that is forbidden to them both.
A great story that kept me reading with a fantastic leading lady; Janna had all the attributes that I look for. There was only one scene that took the shine off when Garrett was being a bit too alpha for my tastes.
Book 2 Forbidden Seduction ~ 5 Stars
Hunter Foster single-handedly exposed the shifter community after shifting in front of humans to protect a Vampire Council Warrior. With no regrets, he heads home to answer for his crime of breaking an outdated law.
Back in his town, he is faced with rogue packs challenging their alpha, his brother, as well as the woman he has spent years avoiding. Finally, he has to come to terms with what his wolf has been telling him and what he as a man has been fighting against.
There wasn’t anything in this story that I didn’t love; great banter, captivating story and a wonderful romance between two amazing characters. I had already fallen in love with Hunter while reading A Warrior Wedding The Protectors #7 but it was Emily who made this a book I could read again and again!
Book 3 Forbidden Desire ~ 5 Stars
From the moment Marcus Foster saw Roxy Patel, he knew she was his mate. Remaining patient because of her troubled past, he was determined to build her trust. She was his and nothing would change that, not even time.
Leaving her past behind, Roxy refused to remain a broken shell of a woman. Determined to start afresh, moving to a new town was just what she needed. With the help of her new friends, and a wolf shifter wanting to make her his own, all Roxy needed was the chance to thrive again.
There wasn’t anything in this story either that I didn’t love; again great banter, gripping plot and a beautiful romance between two amazing characters. Marcus and Roxy captivated my heart and had all my emotions over-flowing reading this book.
Book 4 Forbidden Temptation ~ 4 Stars
Taking on new recruits has always been tricky business for Dell Farris, head protector of the Lee County Wolves. Add in the knowledge that his mate is one of them makes things even more complicated. He knows she has demons to fight, but he’s determined to take charge of that battle. Nothing and no one will ever hurt her again.
Roslyn “Ross” Starr has secrets that she plans to take to the grave. But fearing putting innocents in danger, she makes a decision that could end everything. In a split second, Ross’s life changes, and all because of a handsome shifter who makes her want to try for the life she deserves.
As Dell unlocks the secrets of Roslyn’s past it is clear to all but him that she is a forbidden temptation.
I’ve had a soft spot for Dell since we met him in book 1; big, strong, bear of a man with a huge kind heart. Ross is definitely my kind of heroine and I liked her from the first moment we met her in book 3 when she saves Roxy although her stubbornness to “sort it out” on her own got me growling at my Kindle a few times. 😉
Book 5 Forbidden Secrets ~ 4 Stars
On the run since the murder of her parents, time has come for Leda Kingsman to take her rightful place as pack leader. First she needs to fight for what was stolen from her and her little brother, Sam.
A shifter without a pack, Taz Whelan worked his way into the Lee County Wolves as a tracker. Always the loner, Taz never found anyone he wanted to spend more than five minutes with. That’s until stubborn Leda entered his world.
As Leda leaves the Lee County Wolves under false pretences, Taz lets her go, a decision that haunts him. When he discovers the true reason and what she has been keeping from them all, nothing will stand in his way as he searches for her before the forbidden secrets she holds takes her from him forever.
Both of the characters in this book are young and although Taz doesn’t exhibit all of the traits that puts me off reading YA books, Leda unfortunately does. The plot here ties up some loose ends regarding Leda and Sam parents and the pack they left behind. Despite my numerous eye-rolls at Leda’s actions and thought process, I really did enjoy this book – especially the twists and surprises – hence the 4 stars.
Stories Filled With Passion and Adrenaline That Kept Me Hooked!
I’m already a BIG fan of Ms Gabelman’s writing style and love The Protectors series; the Lee County Wolves series has quickly cemented its place in my heart too.
There are some seriously strong alpha types in this series, and although some scenes in this series bristled my twenty-first century feminist sensibilities, the good guys are my type of alphas, i.e. they have the kind of dominance where their mates come first, from their emotional well-being and safety to their satisfaction in the bedroom. 😉
The women’s personalities are exactly what crave in female leads; intelligent, resilient, self-sufficient and they all have plenty of gumption! Each book focuses on the romance of one couple and I loved the trials and tribulations that they had to go through before getting their HEA ending.
I love all the banter and the balance that the humour plays in these stories to the more brutal, horrific, tense and emotional scenes. I am eager to see where Ms Gabelman takes the series next!

Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to read my mini review. I hope I’ve sparked your interest.
Bye for now,
