Top 5 Tuesday – My K to O Favourite Reads

Good morning my lovelies,

I had a great time last month joining with Top 5 Tuesday, a weekly meme hosted by Shanah @ Bionic Book Worm and thought I’d take part again this month too. Shanah comes up with the topics a month at a time so that we’ve got some thinking space.

If you’re interested in participating in Top 5 Tuesday, all you have do is write up your post and pingback to one of Shanah’s posts. Make sure you pingback to her posts and not just her blog so she can add you to the list.

This month Shanah is trying something different; each week instead of a topic, she wants us to post books that have titles that start with particular letters of the alphabet!

I have put on my thinking cap and trawled through my bookshelves to share with you those books that meet the required criteria and have earned a place on my Goodreads 5 Star Review shelf.

We’re halfway through the month, which means we’re also halfway through the alphabet, so without further ado, this week, we’re looking at……

K is for Kingdom of Exiles (the Beast Charmer #1) Maxym M. Martineau

Kingdom of Exiles is the début novel (approximately 448 pages) from Maxym M Martineau that kicks off her new series – The Beast Charmer.

Ms Martineau has created a whole new fantasy world called Lendria where you either live within the protective walls of the royal city of Wilheim or take your chances in the various towns like Midnight Jester or Ortega Key. Lendria is a continent filled with deadly assassins, magic users, ordinary folk just trying to survive, a whole host of imaginative wild creatures and the race of people that can tame them called Charmers.

L is for The Last Wolf the Legend of All Wolves #1) by Maria Vale

The Last Wolf was the fantastic début novel from Maria Vale that kicked off her new series The Legend of all Wolves.

Our story is set in the modern world – the Adirondack Mountains of Northern America to be precise – and features the werewolf pack that live there, hidden from view.

I feel that The Last Wolf is closer to the urban fantasy genre than a classic paranormal romance due to its grittiness and some of the content within its pages.

M is for Masked Possession (The Masked Arcana #1) by Alana Delacroix

Masked Possession is the first book (approx 272 pages) in a paranormal romance series by Alana Delacroix.

I feel that Masked Possession would happily sit in the adult genre due to some of the 18+ content; the story features new to me beings called the Masquerada – a species of supernaturals who can shift, masque, into a number of other personas depending on their power level, live for about a 1000 years, are egocentric and arrogant and have a total lack of empathy for humans – as well as vampires, fae, merpeople and other supernaturals all secretly living in our human world.

N is for Nicole (The Protectors – The Mates #1) by Teresa Gabelman

Nicole is a paranormal romance and the first book (approx 211 pages) in Teresa Gabelman’s new The Mates Series – a spin off from her highly popular series The Protectors.

This new series is about the mates – the wives and partners – to the elite group of alpha-male vampire warriors who protect innocents, whether human or those of their own race on behalf of the Vampire Council based in Cincinnati, USA.

If you’ve followed my blog for a while, you’ll know that The Protectors is one of my favourite series; this spin-off didn’t let me down and I can’t wait to read the next one which will be released later this year.

O is for Overtaken (The Warrior Chronicles #6) by K.F. Breene

Reunited with her people, Shanti knows that she must make a move in order to finally put her duty to rest. But as always, Xandre is one step ahead of her.

For one brief moment when she lets down her guard, Shanti falls into enemy hands. But if Xandre thought she would be a docile prisoner, he was sadly mistaken.

With Shanti running interference, it is up to the boys she has trained, and the army Cayan leads, to fight their way to her side.

The fate of the land will finally be decided.

Which side will be overtaken?

I’ve only just finished this book and can’t wait to share my all thoughts with you, until then I’ve just linked the image to my Goodreads review…

So that’s it; my Top 5 for this week, thank you for stopping by. Now you’ve read my post, why don’t you hop along to some of the other amazing blogs taking part in this week’s Top 5 Tuesday.

Don’t forget to leave a link to your Top 5 Tuesday post so I can visit your blog if you’re joining in the fun this week.

Enjoy the rest of your week.

Bye for now. x

  1. I’ve only heard of Kingdom of Exiles before (I suspect since I’m not one for romance, that’s why I’ve missed the others), but I’m starting to think it should probably go on my TBR! You’re definitely not the first person to talk about it, haha.

And honestly, The Last Wolf sounds interesting too. Thanks for helping me with my TBR! 😆
