Who Doesn’t Love a Good Mystery ~ Friday Finds plus Book Blogger Hop

Hello Avid Readers,

Today is Friday so it’s time for another Friday Finds post. I have found some great reviews around the blogosphere that I want to share with you this week.

I am enjoying being part of the weekly  Book Blogger Hop meme too, hosted by Billy @ Ramblings of a Coffee Addict, so I’m doing it again today and my answer to this week’s question is at the bottom of this post.

If you are one of my lovely new followers let me just take a moment to explain what my Friday Finds posts are all about. I like to read, my favourite genre is paranormal romance but I’ve also been known to curl up with the odd urban fantasy or paranormal cozy mysteries too. But it’s a big wide literary world out there and I decided back in January that you, my dear followers, might be interested in the reviews about books from other genres to help you find your next favourite book. Ta!Da! My weekly Friday Finds post was born.

This week, I wanted to share some review for non-fiction books that my fellow book bloggers have enjoyed reading (in no particular order).

Forgotten Bones by Vivian Barz from Still Life, With Cracker Crumbs

Erin’s blog is a wonderful mix of book reviews, ramblings about parenthood and lifestyle posts. I love her outlook and the way she composes her reviews. Erin found the mystery in this one intriguing, scary and pulled her along to the end very willingly.

All Bets Are Off: A Samantha True Novel (A Samantha True Mystery Book 2) by Kristi Rose from Devilishly Delicious Book Reviews

Christie and Danielle are very passionate about the books they read and want to share that passion with everyone who visits their highly popular blog. They read pretty much anything that interests them and share their reviews as well as taking part in lots of book tours, new release blitz and cover reveals.

THE LONG CALL by Ann Cleeves from The Bookish Libra

Suzanne is a proofreader by day, book blogger by night and a devourer of books 24/7. She loves reading most genres; contemporary and historical, adult and YA, and has confessed to also enjoying more and more fantasy lately. Her hobbies include: buying and hoarding of books, rambling about books to anyone who will listen and trying to recommend books to her family and friends.

The Turn of the Key by Ruth Ware from Caffeinated Reviewer

Kimberly is a self proclaimed audiobook junkie, avid reader and coffee drinker. She doesn’t limit herself to just reading one genre but reads books from young adult to hot and steamy romances with a healthy love of a good horror or Zombie book.

And my final review this week is from a tried and trusted book blog…

The Passengers by John Marrs from KayCKay Book Reviews

An avid reader, this amazing book blogger read 217 books in 2018! 217!! She listens to audiobooks confesses to opening up the Kindle app to read books just about any moment she has! I love the way she sets out her pros and cons for each book she tells us about. This book really ticked all her boxes and she can’t recommend it highly enough!

So, that’s my picks for this week. I hope you find a moment or two to click at least one of these reviews yourself – who knows you may just find your next favourite author!

Now on to the Book Blogger Hop meme which is hosted by Billy @ Ramblings of a Coffee Addict. A question is posted each week, you answer the question and visit others blogs to see what their answers are. Easy!

So this week’s question is:

Have you ever wished that there were official government bookish holidays, and that, by law, employers HAD to give their workers a paid day off? If so, what kind of bookish holiday would you like to have?

(submitted by Maria @ A Night’s Dream of Books)

Oh, now that would be something 🙂 and embarrassed to admit that it’s never crossed my mind before! 😉 I would love to have a paid day off work to read – I think a British Independent Authors’ Day would be a good start.

What about you dear readers, what bookish holiday would you petition for?

Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to read this post. I hope you have a good weekend and manage to read (or listen to) a great story.

Happy Reading!

x
