Flora’s Mini Book Reviews… Tessa (The Mates Series #2) by Teresa Gabelman

Hello Avid Readers,

Sometimes, when I read a book I don’t write a full review, I just write a paragraph or two to publish on Amazon and Goodreads; especially if it’s a book with thousands of reviews already. But I want to build up my blog to be THE place to go to for paranormal romance fans, so I should really post those smaller reviews on here too, right?

Teresa Gabelman is one of my favourite authors but I am finding myself drawn to the mini review more and more. You don’t mind, right?!  😉

So, on with my thoughts about…

Tessa (The Mates Series #2) by Teresa Gabelman

Tessa Pride, mate to VC Warrior Jared Kincaid, is doing everything in her power to become a respected Warrior in her own right. Unfortunately, her mate isn’t quite as excited about her passion. Tessa walks into the role with a newfound sense of determination knowing her decisions could end her relationship with the man she loves.

With everything to lose, Tessa steps into the battle of earning the right to walk next to her mate in life, love, and work. Though she is also ready to walk alone if necessary, she will make sure Jared Kincaid regrets that for the rest of his life.

The Mate series delves into the kickass world of the Warriors’ mates and how united, they can make a difference—just like their badass Protectors. Follow along to see how these exceptional women’s newfound freedom affect those around them and which Warrior may or may not support their feisty independent mate’s new and exciting path.

*It is highly recommended to read the Protectors Series before reading the Mates Series*

An Emotional Addition To This Fabulous Series.

Wow! I feel breathless – what an amazing paranormal romance story. It’s got everything that I’m looking for in a 5 star read; mystery, action, romance and passion. Couldn’t stop reading this book!

If you’ve read my review before, will know that I enjoy a story more if the lead female character is intelligent, resilient and has a good sense of humour; I knew that I wouldn’t be disappointed here as Tessa was introduced to us in book 2 of The Protector series. Tessa has proved time and time again that she has the strength of character to survive what life throws at her; her own life has been less than idyllic and she is riddled with insecurities but she always thinks of others first. Her journey in this book was inspiring.

I loved that this book had me blubbering like a baby and chuckling out loud, although it horrified and shocked me too and got my blood boiling at the injustice and inequality but rest assured, dear readers, like all of Ms Gabelman’s books, Tessa definitely hits all the right spots passion-wise *blush* and warmed my old romantic heart. I couldn’t put it down!

As this is the second book in a new spin-off series, I was prepared for the story to have some cliffhangers, especially regarding the whole Demon threat. However, hand on heart, I can say that I am satisfied with how this book ended regarding the relationship issues between Tessa and Jared. What I would just say is that I feel you need to have read all of The Protectors books to feel at home with this book – I don’t think you can just jump into it.

Due to the nature of the story-line, the graphic violence and sexual content I’d only recommend this book to adults who are not offended by content of this nature and are fans of relationship and romance stories with gritty story-lines and lots of passion.

Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to read my mini review. I hope I’ve sparked your interest.

Bye for now,

Flora x
