Top 5 Tuesday ~ They’re waiting patiently on my TBR pile – but not for long!

Hello my lovelies,

I’ve been joining in with Top 5 Tuesday, a weekly meme hosted by Shanah @ Bionic Book Worm, as often as I can these past few months and I’m joining in again today. Luckily, Shanah comes up with the topics a month at a time so that we’ve got some thinking space. *phew* She’s so kind to us book bloggers. 🙂

f you’re interested in participating in Top 5 Tuesday, all you have do is write up your post and pingback to one of Shanah’s posts. Make sure you pingback to her post and not just her blog so she can add you to the list of participants.

So on to this week, as you may guess from the title, Shanah has come up with the topic – Top 5 books on my current TBR! (books you’re excited to read right now) – which I’m excited to share with you.

Like every other book lover, I have a TBR (To Be Read) pile that seems to grow like magic. 😉 Some of the books that are on my pile are books that I’ve bought or downloaded because they were on special and who can resist a bargain?! Obviously not me. Lol! But the ones that I’m going to share with you today are books that I’ve bought that I will DEFINITELY read. Before the end of the year! Yes, I’ve said it. I cleared my ARC schedule so that I could read my own books and these are top of my list. 😉

I have linked the images to Goodreads, where you’ll find all the information about the book, the author and the purchase links. All my links open in a new tab so that you don’t lose your place. OK, so without further ado, on to my choices …

Seducing Destiny by Amelia Hutchins

Less than six months ago my life was twisted and flipped on its side. Things have changed so much I barely recognize myself anymore.

I am no longer an Enforcer.

I am no longer a Witch.

I no longer hate the Fae. (For the most part)

And the sex-on-a-stick-gorgeous-Fae? He isn’t really the Dark Prince.

No, he is the father of my children and with the babies on the way, the land dying and the Mages closing in; alliances will have to be formed if we are all to make it through the war that is coming to our front door.

Between warring Gods and Goddesses, how are any of us supposed to win?

Night Embrace by Sherrilyn Kenyon

Talon is a Celt warrior cursed by his ancient gods. After his sister was murdered he sold his soul to Artemis. In exchange for vengeance on his tribe he became a Dark-Hunter, fighting Daimons and rescuing the human souls they’ve captured. Now assigned to New Orleans, Talon lives in a shack on a bayou surrounded by his pet alligators. As with all Dark-Hunters, Talon is a major hottie, with a penchant for black leather.

Sunshine Runningwolf is a talented artist with a big heart and lousy taste in men. After being rescued by Talon from a Daimon attack, she becomes a pawn in the plot of a Celtic war god and a Greek god, to torment and kill him. She has to save the day, as well as trying to convince the Greek goddess Artemis to return Talon’s soul. Luckily her grandmother is even more powerful than the gods……

How To Dance An Undead Waltz by Hailey Edwards

Keep a spot open on your dance card. This is one ball you don’t want to miss.

Grier is nursing a broken heart after Boaz announced his engagement to another woman, but life goes on. Or it would if vampire assassins would stop taking pot shots at her every time she leaves Woolworth House. Seriously, who sends archers to deliver murdergrams these days?

To protect herself, Grier must pull out all the stops, even if it means revealing her darkest secret. All eyes are on her, and — for the first time — she begins to understand why Linus wears so many masks. But the target isn’t Grier, and when the archers single him out, it feels like one of their arrows might have struck what remains of her heart.

The Darkest Kiss by Gena Showalter

Doomed to escort the souls of the innocent – and the wicked – to their final resting place…

Lucien walks alone, even among the other Lords of the Underworld. His curse allows him little time or inclination for pleasure. Then Anya arrives.Anya is the goddess of anarchy and chaos, and she delights in wreaking havoc on Lucien’s ordered life.

But her playfulness hides a dark secret. She may be drawn to the Keeper of Death, but she isn’t going to let him get too close. When Lucien is ordered by the gods to kill Anya, their flirtation becomes a battle – one that can only end when Lucien takes her soul…

Reluctant King by Montana Ash

A demon who would be king and an angel assassin; together they will discover that Purgatory can be both Heaven and Hell.

Demon. Soldier. King.

As General of the Demon Horde of Purgatory, Abraxis was never supposed to rule. But when a hidden enemy begins to pick off the royals – Brax’s family – one by one, Brax finds himself in the position of King – albeit reluctantly. Assuming the mantel of King of Purgatory is the last thing Brax wants. He is anti-social, rough and consumed with vengeance. But as the last remaining descendant of Cerberus, Brax has no choice. With his overprotective guardian angel by his side, Brax makes a choice that could prove to be the best or worst decision of his life; hiring the beautiful and deadly Sabre.

Assassin. Mercenary. Angel.

Sabre is an assassin. Stolen as a child and trained in the most brutal assassin den in Purgatory, Sabre excelled in her schooling despite the visceral betrayal to her angelic nature. When the new king hires her to identify and assassinate the threat to the monarchy, Sabre accepts – albeit reluctantly. For truth and lies are two sides of the same coin in Purgatory and Sabre just happens to be the keeper. With the aid of her shapeshifting protégé and zombie non-best friend at her side, Sabre forges a bloody and dangerous path – even as her dead, murderous heart begins to beat again.

Anyway, that’s it for this week’s, I’m off to read my current book so that I can start one of these beauties. 😉 Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to read my post. Now that you’ve read mine, why not hop along to some of the other amazing blogs taking part in this week’s Top 5 Tuesday.

Don’t forget to leave a link to your Top 5 Tuesday post so I can visit your blog if you’re joining in the fun this week or just drop me a comment below.

I hope you enjoy the rest of your week and read some fantastic books.

Bye for now. x

  1. I still need to read Seducing destiny Flora! It’s the last one of the series that I need to read!

  2. TBRs are proof that magic exists, because they are a force unto themselves, and I’m pretty sure I didn’t put 50% of the things I have in mine actually in it, and yet there they are.

I’ve been meaning to give Sherrilyn Kenyon’s work a try. That book sounds really interesting! Oooh, definitely think I’ll check our Reluctant King, too. It sounds great. Hope you’re able to get to these soon!
