Hello Avid Readers,
Today is Friday so it’s time for another Friday Finds post. I have found some great book reviews around the blogosphere that I want to share with you this week.
I am enjoying being part of the weekly Book Blogger Hop meme too, hosted by Billy @ Ramblings of a Coffee Addict, so I’m doing it again today and my answer to this week’s question is at the bottom of this post.
If you are one of my lovely new followers let me just take a moment to explain what my Friday Finds posts are all about. I like to read, my favourite genre is paranormal romance but I’ve also been known to curl up with the odd urban fantasy or paranormal cosy mystery too. BUT it’s a big wide literary world out there and I decided back in January 2019 that you, my dear followers, might be interested in reading reviews about books from other genres to help find your next read. Ta!Da! My weekly Friday Finds post was born.
So, here are some book reviews that my fellow book bloggers have enjoyed reading (in no particular order).
Sarah’s reading material is diverse and her reviews are always intelligent and honest; this week it’s an audiobook that’s under her microscope. Not everything on Sarah’s blog is about books, she also posts about the places she’s travelled to and her experiences while there. As I’ve said before, Sarah Lockwood’s blog is one that I always make time to read.
Evelina is a book blogger and reviewer who’s preferred genres are general fiction, fantasy and sci-fi, but she also reads non-fiction books on important topics like equality, disability, fair treatment of individuals. Evelina was truly impressed with this non-fiction book, saying that it “more than just falling cats – it’s about science history, biology, mechanics, prep for space travel and even robotics. And yes, cats. Even robot cats.“
If you don’t know, Literary Titan are a group of discerning reviewers that seem to find independent published works in every genre. They regularly post review and author interviews and have over 3,000 followers! You’re bound to find something that catches your eye.
Anne Mendez usually reviews books in the historical fiction genre, including all the sub-genres, e.g. mystery, thriller, romance, etc. and although this is a genre I rarely read myself, I always enjoy her thoughts.
And my final review this week is from a firm favourite of mine …
An avid reader, this amazing book blogger read 217 books in 2018! 217!! She listens to audiobooks and confesses to opening up the Kindle app to read books just about any moment she has! I love the way she sets out her pros and cons for each book she tells us about.
So, that’s my picks for this week. I hope you find a moment or two to click at least one of these reviews yourself – who knows you may just find your next favourite author!
Now on to the Book Blogger Hop meme which is hosted by Billy @ Ramblings of a Coffee Addict. A question is posted each week, you answer the question and visit others blogs to see what their answers are. Easy!
So this week’s question is:
Excluding the Bible, name one book that makes you feel thankful and happy.
(submitted by Billy @ Coffee Addicted Writer)
I’m not sure about books that make me feel thankful, but I read as a form of entertainment so there are a huge number that make me happy. 🙂
So what about you?
Thank you for stopping by and taking the time to read this post. I hope you have a great weekend and manage to read (or listen to) a great book.
