Flora’s Mini Book Reviews… How To Dance An Undead Waltz (The Beginner’s Guide To Necromancy #4) by Hailey Edwards

Hello Avid Readers,

Sometimes, when I read a book I don’t write a full review, I just write a paragraph or two to publish on Amazon and Goodreads; especially if it’s a book with thousands of reviews already. But I want to build up my blog to be THE place to go to for paranormal romance fans, so I should really post those smaller reviews on here too, right?

So with that in mind, today, I want to share my thoughts about…

How To Dance An Undead Waltz (The Beginner’s Guide To Necromancy #4) by Hailey Edwards

Grier is nursing a broken heart after Boaz announced his engagement to another woman, but life goes on. Or it would if vampire assassins would stop taking pot shots at her every time she leaves Woolworth House. Seriously, who sends archers to deliver murdergrams these days?

To protect herself, Grier must pull out all the stops, even if it means revealing her darkest secret. All eyes are on her, and—for the first time—she begins to understand why Linus wears so many masks. But the target isn’t Grier, and when the archers single him out, it feels like one of their arrows might have struck what remains of her heart.

Another Great Story in This Addictive Series.

This series is cementing Hailey Edwards as one of my favourite authors. I find her writing style very easy to read; her storylines keep me hooked, I find the world that she’s created for this series fascinating and I love that all her characters have multifaceted personalities making them feel believable – even though many are not even human. Ms Edwards got me feeling emotional about a house for crying out loud! A house!! 😉

While I’m on the subject of characters, those of you who have read my reviews before will know that I crave heroines who are intelligent, resilient, resourceful and have plenty of gumption. Although Grier Woolworth is only 21, I love how she’s evolving and growing as this series progresses; she has the traits that I look for as well as the potential for so much more plus her sense of humour makes me chuckle.

This is only the fourth book in a completed 6 book series, so although some mysteries have been solved in this book, we are still left with more unanswered questions than you can shake a hamster at, but rest assured dear reader, there is NO life-or-death perilous cliffhanger at the end of this book. That being said, I am emotionally invested in Grier and can’t wait to find out what happens next so I will be borrowing the next book using my Kindle Unlimited subscription before you can say, “Necromancers do it in sigils”. 😉
