Flora’s Mini Book Reviews… One Bite (Blood Prince Series #2) by Jennifer Blackstream

Hello Avid Readers,

Last year, I decided that mini reviews were the way forward for this particular book blogger. 😉 This means that I only write full detailed reviews for the books I receive from authors, publishers and PR organiser (ARCs). When I read a book that I’ve bought for myself, I share my thoughts within a paragraph or two that I publish on Amazon UK, Goodreads and here on my blog.

Today, I want to share my thoughts about a book I first read back in November 2018 but didn’t post my review here, I’m remedying that right now …

One Bite (Blood Prince Series #2) by Jennifer Blackstream

One Bite by Jennifer Blackstream

A power-hungry vampire in search of a fruitful alliance…

Kirill is a vampire prince plotting to be a vampire king. His immortal father has no intentions of vacating the throne anytime soon, but all good things come to those who wait…and plan. Bit by bit, Kirill is gathering political allies, forming alliances with goblins, trolls, and any other magical creatures who will speak with him. Unfortunately, his ruthless machinations can only get him so far. Some situations just require a woman’s touch. If only the fiery maiden with the power to help him didn’t strain his control over his lust for blood…and more.

A rebellious siren with a song to soothe the savage heart…

Irina will not cower. Not from her evil sorceress stepmother, and not from the vampire prince whose fangs threaten her with death even as his lips raise the heated desire of her bloodline. With a dagger at the ready, she agrees to a bargain — her aid in his pursuit of political alliances with creatures beyond the veil in return for a reduction in the royal tithe her people are forced to pay the crown. If only sharp fangs and a sharp tongue weren’t such an incendiary combination…

Even an undead mastermind can’t foresee everything…

Another Gripping New Twist To A Favourite Traditional Tale.

I really enjoyed this book. I am becoming a fan of the way Ms Blackstream takes traditional folk/fairy tales and makes them her own. This time it was Snow White that gets the Blackstream treatment!

I found this story very easy to read and get caught up in; the writing style was intelligent, the pace and plot development was well balanced, I enjoyed the twists and turns to the various mysteries woven throughout this untraditional paranormal romance tale.

I added the narration too and was impressed with Matt Addis‘ performance; the pace of his narration was just right and I enjoyed his vocal variances for the dialogue.

There is a background story arc that binds all of the Blood Prince books but each one can be read as a standalone romance.

I have added the whole series to my Amazon wish list and book 2 Golden Stair and novella 2.5 What Big Teeth You Have are already waiting impatiently on my Kindle. 😉

Buy ONE BITE (or catch the whole series) in print, audio and eBook formats through the usual sources including:

Amazon UK ¦ Amazon US ¦ Audible ¦ Book Depository
(I am part of Amazon , Audible , The Book Depository, Foyles Book Shop and Waterstones affiliate programmes, which means when you use those links to buy a copy of this book, I will get a (very) small % from the sale.)

Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to read my thoughts.

I hope I’ve sparked your interest and that you add this one to your groaning TBR piles. 😉

Bye for now,

Flora x

  1. I love it when familiar stories are told in untraditional ways! It’s why I typically avoid retellings, because I want a book to be able to stand on its own even if it’s based on something else. 😍😍😍
