Hello, my lovelies. Today, I’m sharing a quick half-year update for the 2021 Audiobook Challenge. Am I on track to reach my goal? Do I have any favourite listens so far?

I entered this audiobook challenge hosted by Kimberly @caffeinatedreviewer last year and surprised myself with how many I listened to. Sadly, my health has reduced my screen and reading time, so I’ve relied more and more on audiobooks in 2021. Therefore, I decided to up the ante and aim for…

Marathoner (look Ma no hands) = 50+ audiobooks

From 1st January to 30th June, I’ve listened to 28 audiobooks. Taking me to Binge Listener (why read when someone can do it for you) level. 😉 I’m happily on track to make it to 50+ audiobooks by the end of the year.

I must admit that my love for the audio format is growing rapidly. That’s not to say that EVERY audiobook I listen to is a ranging success, but I’m getting to know some of the narrators and have favourites. Hmm, sounds like a potential post, don’t you think?

What’s really fantastic is that I’ve found some fabulous new favourites – I LOVED Daemon Grudge by Stacey Brutger. Audiobooks helped me finish the Iron Druid Chronicles – what a great series! Plus, my list of great PWF titles is growing and you know how much I love the paranormal women’s fiction genre. 😉

About Me

I'm in my late forties, my interests are varied but since menopause hit a few years ago, I find myself becoming a "grumpy old woman" all too frequently - where has my infinite patience gone!?! Lol!
I bought a Kindle in the summer of 2013 and haven't stopped reading since. If you want to know more about me, check out my blog -

      That would be great, Sabrina

  2. I only started listening for real 4 years ago, that is when I fell in love 😀 And I am SO glad I did

    Great work on your goal!

Thanks the romance has been slow-burn for me but I can’t imagine my life without audiobooks now. It’s become my favourite format.

  3. I have not listened to these but I have actually read Cupcakes, Trinkets…I used to read the paranormal romance a lot in my late teens and early 20s. Now in my 30s, my book genres are all over the place!

By the way, awesome job with being on track with your audiobooks! You probably will surpass your goal!

    1. Flora says:

Thanks Vonnie. I was mainly reading horror in my teens and 20s but now in my late 40s I was some fantasy escapism and a bit of romance happily ever after. Lol!

  4. Rachel @Waves of Fiction says:

Looks like you’re well ahead and should meet your goal with no problem at all. Nice work! I’ve enjoyed Suzanne Wright in the past but haven’t listened to her stories by audio. I need to do that! I loved the Iron Druid Chronicles too! Luke Daniels is a fantastic narrator!

    1. Flora says:

Thanks, Rachel. In the UK Christopher Ragland narrates the Iron Druid Chronicles so I haven’t heard Luke’s performance but Christopher does a great job.

  5. You are doing amazingly!!! Well done!! I’m behind on my Audiobook Challenge so need to get a move on!!!

    1. Flora says:

Thanks Caro. It helps that Audible keep doing tempting promotions! Lol! You’ve got plenty of time to catch up on your challenge. x

      1. I’m only a couple behind so maybe I should get some smaller listens!!! X
