So what’s Bound Angel about?

[book-info]

Read: 29th January – 2nd February 2019

You don’t need to have read any of the previous books in the Her Angel: Bound Warriors series to enjoy Bound Angel. Felicity weaves any relevant information about the world and past adventures that the reader needs into this story. However, you may experience a deeper connection if you do.

So, what did I like about Bound Angel?

I’m a big fan of Felicity’s writing style. I’m sure I’ve mentioned this like a hundred times. Lol! 😉 It’s the way she creates a believable paranormal world and then packs it full of multifaceted characters. Even the supernatural ones have very real human traits. Then, Felicity weaves their stories around an engaging background plot that draws me in and keeps me hooked.

I loved our romantic couple.

Isadora is my kind of heroine, she’s got gumption! She manages to maintain her hope throughout her trials and tribulations and doesn’t sit back and wait for someone else to rescue her. I loved Rook’s inner conflict. His forgotten life causing him to be confused about what he feels and waiving his previous stone-cast drive and dogged determination to be the leader of the Devil first battalion. I really liked that both our main characters are determined and tenacious but also show loving, playful and teasing sides too.

I would like to mention at this point that the fight scenes in this book are outstanding. Our heroine, Isadora, can hold her own; not leaving it to the males to fight on her behalf.

Which leads me on to another reason why I love Felicity’s books so much. The sex.

Felicity makes the most explicit sexual scenes very romantic. I think it takes a very talented writer to accomplish this/ The erotic interludes in this story are beautifully balanced with poignant internal dialogue from our main romantic pair. It’s the tender insights into Rook and Isadora’s inner fears, their doubts and their emotional vulnerability that captivated my old romantic heart.

Bound Warrior was a page-turner for me and I really enjoyed reading it.

I loved the build-up of sexual anticipation and I got caught up with Rook and Isadora’s romantic shenanigans (who wouldn’t *blush*). However, I also loved the edge-of-your-seat fight scenes that got my adrenaline pumping. I shed a tear or two during the tender moments and I found myself chuckling out loud at the dry humour and banter. Bound Angel had me gripped from the first page to the last and I couldn’t stop reading!

So, um, was there anything I didn’t like?

Well, I obviously enjoyed the book as I rated it 5 stars. However, I feel that I should mention a couple of things.

This is the final book in a four-book series. Therefore, there’s mention of past adventures that gently link all four books. There are connections to some old angel comrades of our hero, Rook. Apollyon from book 1 Dark Angel, Lukas from book 2 Fallen Angel and Einar from book 3 Warrior Angel. However, for those of you like me who HATE huge cliff-hangers, rest assured, Felicity doesn’t leave us hanging in any of the books in this series. That means that the immediate threat and mystery in this book is solved and the romance between Rook and Isadora is happily concluded before the last page.

So, basically what I’m saying is…

I really loved this book. It had everything that I look for in a great paranormal romance. Bound Angel made me smile, cry and feel all warm and fuzzy inside. My heart was pumping during the fight scenes, there were great well written erotic thrills and tons of romantic gestures that satisfied my soppy side.

Content Warning:

There are scenes of explicit sexual content and graphic violence in this book. Therefore, I’d only recommend it to adults who aren’t offended by scenes of this sort.

I’d recommend Bound Angel to adults who enjoy reading stories about conspiracies. Plus, the drive to hunt out the truth and protection of those we love. Bound Angel is a must-read for those of you, like me, who adore tales about soul-saving love with oodles of fire and passion.
