Bride McTlerney has just been dumped via FedEx.
There's not much that could ease such a broken heart until Vane Kattalakis wanders into her shop and her life. Their whirlwind affair feels too good to be true.
Deadly and tortured, Vane Kattalakis isn't what he seems.
Most women lament that their boyfriends are dogs. In Bride's case, hers is a wolf. A Were-Hunter wolf.
Wanted dead by his enemies, Vane isn't looking for a male. But the Fates have marked Bride as his. Now he has three weeks to either convince Bride that the supernatural is real or he will spend the rest of his life neutered - something no self-respecting wolf can accept...
But how does a wolf convince a human to trust him with her life when his enemies are out to end his? In the world of the Were-Hunters, it really is dog-eat-dog. And only one alpha male can win.
The Hunter Legends Series (previously named the Entire Dark Hunterverse) has several series that tie-in and overlap the whole series. Those are:
- Dark-Hunters series
- Dream-Hunters series
- Were-Hunters series
- Hellchasers series
- Lords of Avalon series
- Dragons Rising Trilogy series
This series encompasses the entire Hunter Series. For the correct reading order, please visit the author’s site.
Sherrilyn Kenyon was originally one of the attending authors of RARE19 in London and so I bought half a dozen of the paperbacks in her Dark Hunters series. Unfortunately, due to some terrible things happening in her private life, Sherrilyn had to cancel her visit. 😭
However I’m enjoying this series too much to stop reading them! I hope to meet her one day, should she every come to another signing event in England.
I decided last year that mini reviews were the way forward for me. Therefore I only write full detailed reviews for the books I receive from authors, publishers and PR organiser (ARCs).
So on with my mini review…
So, what did I think about Night Play?
An Adrenaline-Pumped Paranormal Romance Adventure!
I’m really loving this series! I love Ms Kenyon’s writing style; her prose and the pace of her plots and the twists & turns. I like how she concludes the romantic aspects of her tales while still leaving some tantalising threads. I’m always left with an urge to buy the next book. 😉
When reading paranormal romance, the main female character has to be intelligent, resilient, resourceful, self-reliant and have plenty of gumption. Although Bride had her insecurities (like most of us), she was just what I need. She’s kind, with a beautiful heart, loyal to those she loves and has a warm, non-prejudice acceptance towards everyone. We briefly meet Vane, and his brother Fang, in one of the previous books and I liked him then; Vane’s a dark and deadly warrior. But his loyalty, humanity and capacity to love, ensured that he became the perfect partner for Bride.
Night Play is an exciting, but emotional read that brought me to tears on more than one occasion. Expect to feel sorrow, fear, indignation, apprehension, joy and passion when reading this story!
Due to the explicit sexual content, brutality and graphic violence, I’d recommend this book to adults who are OK with that. If you enjoy romance stories about the complexities of relationships, family, trust, loyalty and betrayal. And love tales of surviving despite insurmountable challenges and soul saving love then this one’s for you.
This series has me well and truly hooked.
I can’t wait to read the next book and find out where Ms Kenyon leads us!
Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to read my mini review. 💜
Have you read Night Play? If not, I hope I’ve sparked your interest and you decide to add it to your every growing TBR piles. (And perhaps more from the Dark Hunter series) 😉
Bye for now,
