Hello my lovelies. Are you feeling festive yet? Welcome to my 12 Days of Blogmas 2020 post. Today, I’m taking part in the Bookish Naughty or Nice Tag.
🎄 What is 12 DAYS OF BLOGMAS? 🎄
The 12 Days of Blogmas is an excellent choice for anyone new to the whole blogging world of Blogmas. This is my first year taking part and I wasn’t entirely sure if I’d be able to dedicate enough time to it.
For this aspect of Blogmas, blogging start on 1st December and we post daily for the first 12 days, or post every other day (which is what I decided to do).
Alternatively, some bloggers follow the 12 Days of Christmas from 25th December to 6th January in line with the Christian Church. This allows them to either rest before taking part, or follow their usual blogging schedule in the lead up to the 12 Days of Blogmas.
Today’s Blogmas post is the Bookish Naughty or Nice Tag.
I’ve seen this tag around the blogosphere for a while now. It was started by the lovely Jenniely waaay back in 2017, and although I haven’t been tagged, it looked like so much fun that I decided to give it a go.
Why? Because it fits so perfectly with Blogmas. I’m secretly hoping to be on the naughty list…
📜 Rules 📜
- Tag & link the person who tagged you
- Tag and link Jenniely post (if you would be so kind, I love reading your answers!)
- Tick/cross off the ones you’ve done
- Tag another 10 people!
1. Received an ARC and not reviewed it.
👼 Nope, I’m nice.
2. Have less than 60% feedback rating on Netgalley.
👼 No, nice again.
3. Rated a book on Goodreads and promised a full review was to come on your blog (and never did).
😈 Oops, yes. There are a few books I read in 2014, 2015 and 2016 that qualify for this one.
4. Folded down the page of a book.
😈 Um, do non-fiction reference books count? If they do, then yes. I’m guilty as charged. Most of the fiction books I read are either audiobooks or Kindle, so … not as applicable, I feel. However, I’ll claim naughty for this one.
5. Accidentally spilt on a book.
👼 Accidents happen! I haven’t had any major spills to the point where it’s ruined a book or anything. (Touching wood frantically now.)
6. DNF a book this year.
👼 I haven’t DNF’d any books this year. What a wonderful feeling! I chalk that up to my nitpicking when choosing.
7. Bought a book purely because it was pretty with no intention of reading it.
👼 I’ve bought plenty of books because the cover was gorgeous. However, when I buy a book, it’s because I plan on reading it. Otherwise, why would I spend that sort of money?! Yes, the cover may have been my initial interest in it, but if it doesn’t sound like something I’d read, I don’t pick it up, no matter how gorgeous the cover is. Therefore, I’m going to count this as a no.
8. Read whilst you were meant to be doing something else (like homework).
😈 It’s been so many decades since my school years that I can’t really remember. Lol! Although I probably did. However, can you find me with my nose in my Kindle instead of doing the housework? Guilty as charged! 😉
9. Skim read a book.
😈 Sadly yes. 🙁 Usually, skim reading happens when a story is somewhere between a two-star (it’s OK) and a DNF. It’s a book where I want to know what happens, but I’m not 100% sold on the story, so I end up skimming and skipping through.
10. Completely missed your Goodreads goal.
😈 Damn. You’ve caught me fiddling the figures. I’m currently about two books ahead on my Goodreads goal. However, I reduced it by half back in June. Ok, guilty for this one too.
11. Borrowed a book and not returned it.
👼 No, never!!
12. Broke a book buying ban.
👼 Broken a diet? Yes. Almost continually. But I’ve never put, myself under a book buying ban. Therefore, I’ve never broken one. 😉
13. Started a review, left it for ages then forgot what the book was about.
😈 When I first started writing reviews, yes. In fact, see my answer to question 3. 😉
14. Wrote in a book you were reading.
😈 Reference books, training manuals, etc. But that’s allowed, right?! Right?! Oh, damn!
15. Finished a book and not added it to your Goodreads.
👼 Seriously? Who does that?! My Goodreads target needs all the help it can get. That’s a big fat no from me. 😉
16. Borrowed a book and not returned it to a friend.
😈 (Sheepishly looks at my bookshelf) yes.
17. Dodged someone asking if they can borrow a book.
👼 I’ve only ever had one person ask to borrow a book from me. I was happy to let her borrow it.
18. Broke the spine of someone else’s book.
👼 What sort of monster does that?! I mean, you what you will do with your own book what you want, but someone else’s book? Have you no shame?!
19. Took the jacket off a book to protect it and ended up making it more damaged.
👼 No. Protecting the book is the dust jacket’s sole purpose for living. If I take that away, what is its reason for being? I couldn’t be that cruel.
20. Sat on a book accidentally.
😈 Half my life is spent quickly trying to stand after accidentally sitting on things! Lol! Luckily, books (and my Kindle) are pretty sturdy things, and my arse is soft and squishy. (Damn it!)
✦ RESULT: 👼=11 😈=9 ✦
Damn it, looks like I’m nice. 😂 🤣 😂
Thanks for visiting and reading my Bookish Naughty or Nice Tag. I’m not tagging anyone, because nobody tagged me, but if this looks like fun … do it!
HOW MANY POINTS WOULD YOU SCORE? WERE YOU NAUGHTY OR NICE THIS YEAR?
Don’t forget to let me know if you do this tag, I’d love to read your answers.
As usual I’m tagging this Blogmas 2020 post with #ChristmasWithKtkinnes as it’s Katie’s infectious love of this festive blogging challenge that inspired me to get involved this year.
Bye for now,
