Review: Kiss of the Night (Hunter Legends #5) by Sherrilyn Kenyon

Hello Avid Readers. I want to share my thoughts today about Kiss of the Night by Sherrilyn Kenyon. Book 5 in the highly addictive Hunter Legends paranormal romance world.

[book-info]

The Hunter Legends Series (previously named the Entire Dark Hunterverse) has several series that tie-in and overlap the whole series. Those are:

  • Dark-Hunters series
  • Dream-Hunters series
  • Were-Hunters series
  • Hellchasers series
  • Lords of Avalon series
  • Dragons Rising Trilogy series

This series encompasses the entire Hunter Series. For the correct reading order, please visit the author’s site.

Sherrilyn Kenyon was originally one of the attending authors of RARE19 in London and so I bought half a dozen of the paperbacks in her Dark Hunters series. Unfortunately, due to some terrible things happening in her private life, Sherrilyn had to cancel her visit.

However I’m enjoying this series too much to stop reading them! I hope to meet her one day, should she every come to another signing event in England.

I decided last year that mini reviews were the way forward for me.  Therefore I only write full detailed reviews for the books I receive from authors, publishers and PR organiser (ARCs).

So on with my mini review…

So, what did I think about Kiss of the Night?

An Emotional Paranormal Romance Adventure That Ticked All My Boxes!

I’m really enjoying this series! I love Ms Kenyon’s writing style; the prose she uses, the pace of her plots, the twists & turns and how she concludes the romantic aspects of her tales while still leaving some tantalising threads that tempt you into buying the next book.

When reading paranormal romance, I need my main female character to be intelligent, resilient, resourceful, self-reliant and have plenty of gumption; Cassandra was a great example of this. She was an amazingly tenacious woman with a beautiful heart, loyal and had a great sense of humour. We briefly meet the Viking warrior Wulf, in one of the previous books and I liked him then. He’s a dark and deadly warrior but his loyalty and humanity ensured that he became the perfect partner for Cassandra.

Kiss of the Night by Sherrilyn Kenyon is an exciting, but emotional read that brought me to tears on more than one occasion. Expect to feel sorrow, fear, indignation, apprehension, joy and passion when reading this story!

Due to the explicit sexual content and graphic violence, I’d recommend this book to adults who are OK with that. Adults who enjoy romance stories about the complexities of relationships, trust, loyalty and betrayal. And those who crave adventure around insurmountable odds and soul saving love.

I’ve already got the next two books in this amazing series. I can’t wait to see where Ms Kenyon takes us next!

Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to read my mini review.

Have you read Kiss of the Night? If not, I hope I’ve sparked your interest and that you add it to your every growing TBR piles. Or any of the Dark Hunter books! 😉

Bye for now,

Flora x

I'm in my late forties, my interests are varied but since menopause hit a few years ago, I find myself becoming a "grumpy old woman" all too frequently - where has my infinite patience gone!?! Lol!
I bought a Kindle in the summer of 2013 and haven't stopped reading since. If you want to know more about me, check out my blog - www.florasmusings.com

Sherrilyn’s writing style is right up my street, Kristen. Luckily, she’s written hundreds of books. 😉

You reminded me why I loved her books so much years ago! And Flora I hope that next RARE in London we’ll meet!

Wow that sounds such an exciting series! Wulf sounds like he’s an intriguing character that I’d love to delve into his world!

Great review, flora! Made me more curious about this book
