Flora Meets… Jeffe Kennedy Author of The Orchid Throne

Hello fellow book-a-holics,

Today, I am delighted to welcome best-selling author, Jeffe Kennedy, to Flora’s Musings as part of the book tour to promote her latest novel The Orchid Throne.  I was overjoyed to be given the opportunity to ask Jeffe some of the bookish questions that have been floating around my mind.

To make your lives easier, dear followers, there are purchase links, book information and an author bio at the end of our little Q&A session. 😉

I have already read and really enjoyed The Orchid Throne and you can read my review here.

Hello Jeffe and welcome to Flora’s Musings…

Flora: Jeffe, I love it when books completely engage me and I can lose myself in the story. Which books have you lost yourself in this year?

Jeffe: So, I finally read Sarah J. Maas’s A Court of Thorns and Roses trilogy and totally glommed it! Wow, so good.

I also lost a few days reading the Innkeeper series by Ilona Andrews.

And Maria Vale’s Legend of All Wolves trilogy swept me away.

There were a lot of others—I’ve read nearly 100 books so far in 2019—but those were ones that had me procrastinating other things.

Wow, 100 books, that’s impressive, Jeffe. I totally agree with you about The Innkeeper Chronicles and The Legend of All Wolves series; I have read these books and got swept up in their stories too.

Flora: My Google calendar is packed full of reminders about future releases that I’m desperate to get my hands on. Are there any books due out this year or next that you are excited about?

Jeffe: Well, just this week I had JD Robb’s Vendetta in Death on autobuy, so I can’t wait for the time to read that!

And I really can’t wait for Golden in Death, book #50 in February. Do you think this will be the last??? ~bites nails~

Also Grace Draven’s Dragon Unleashed, book 2 in her Fallen Empires series, comes out in June. Amanda Bouchet has book 2 in her Nightchaser series, Starbreaker, out in April.

And I can’t wait for Jennifer Estep’s Crush the King, the final book in her Shards of Honor trilogy!

There are some amazing fantasy authors on your future releases want it list, Jeffe and a few new new-to-me series that I’ll be checking out. 😉

Flora: Speaking about future releases, I know fans of this new series – Forgotten Empires – can look forward to the release of book 2 The Fiery Crown next year. Can you tell us what your long term plans for the series are?

Jeffe: So happy to hear you’re looking forward to The Fiery Crown! I’m finishing edits on it right now, and wow—what happens near the end is kind of mind-blowing, even to me. So, I’m already thinking about book 3, which is due in April 2020.

I just returned from a trip around Ireland and feeling how that island is, gave me a LOT of ideas for the third book in the trilogy. That story is simmering in the back of my mind now. Once this trilogy is done… who knows? If readers love it and it sells well enough, maybe St. Martins will want more! There are definitely some secondary characters I’d love to follow. Sondra on a quest? Oooh…

Flora: Ha!Ha! I like the idea of following Sondra on an adventure, she’s quite an amazing woman. I sure this series is going to be a huge success! Thank you again for taking the time to visit my blog and for answers my mini Q&A, Jeffe.

Jeffe: Thanks so much for reading!

So fellow book-a-holics, have you read any of the books Jeffe mentioned? Have you added any of the above book to your lists like I have? As usual, I’d love to hear from you, just leave a comment below.

Jeffe’s latest book, The Orchid Throne is available to buy NOW and it is an amazing fantasy tale full of political intrigue, passion and adventure! I’m sure you’re going to love it. Keep reading for all the details as promised. 🙂

The Orchid Throne (Forgotten Empires #1) by Jeffe Kennedy

As Queen of the island kingdom of Calanthe, Euthalia will do anything to keep her people free—and her secrets safe—from the mad tyrant who rules the mainland. Guided by a magic ring of her father’s, Lia plays the political game with the cronies the emperor sends to her island. In her heart, she knows that it’s up to her to save herself from her fate as the emperor’s bride. But in her dreams, she sees a man, one with the power to build a better world—a man whose spirit is as strong, and whose passion is as fierce as her own…

Conrí, former Crown Prince of Oriel, has built an army to overthrow the emperor. But he needs the fabled Abiding Ring to succeed. The ring that Euthalia holds so dear to her heart. When the two banished rulers meet face to face, neither can deny the flames of rebellion that flicker in their eyes—nor the fires of desire that draw them together. But in this broken world of shattered kingdoms, can they ever really trust each other? Can their fiery alliance defeat the shadows of evil that threaten to engulf their hearts and souls?

I'm in my late forties, my interests are varied but since menopause hit a few years ago, I find myself becoming a "grumpy old woman" all too frequently - where has my infinite patience gone!?! Lol!
I bought a Kindle in the summer of 2013 and haven't stopped reading since. If you want to know more about me, check out my blog -
