Hello Avid Readers. Today, I’m sharing my thoughts about Blood Shadows (Blackthorn #1) by Lindsay J Pryor.
Sometimes, when I read a book I don’t write a full review, I just write a paragraph or two to publish on Amazon and Goodreads; especially if it’s a book with thousands of reviews already. But I want to build up my blog to be THE place to go to for paranormal romance fans, so I should really post those smaller reviews on here too, right?
What’s Blood Shadows about?

I’d originally bought this book as Lindsay was listed as attending RARE19 in London. However, she had to pull out of the event so I won’t get to meet her this year. 🙁
What did I think about it?

An Addictive Start To This Dark Paranormal Romance
Lindsay J Pryor is a new-to-me author but after reading this I’m kicking myself that I didn’t come across her sooner. I loved this book.
I loved Ms Pryor’s writing style; the fantasy world that she’s created, the complexities of her characters, the pace of her plot and the way she kept me second guessing motives and what would happen next.
The romance aspect between our main characters, Caitlin and Kane is not only unusual but highly emotive. I became drawn into their story and couldn’t stop reading. There are plenty of twists and lots of surprises.
I downloaded the narration by Anne Flosnik and was blown away by her performance. The way she read the narrative, the tonal variations she used during the different scenes and the voices she gave the characters. Perfect.
I will definitely be reading the next book in this series.

I think I have this on my kindle, but I’ll have to see if I can try the audio from Hoopla. Glad to hear this is a good book!
