Flora’s Mini Book Reviews… Switching Hour (Magic and Mayhem #1) by Robyn Peterman

Hello Avid Readers,

Last year, I came to the decision that mini reviews are the way forward for this book blogger. 😉 I’ve already just been writing a paragraph or two for my Amazon and Goodreads reviews for the last few years – especially when it’s a book with thousands of reviews already – but as I want to build up my blog to be THE place to go for paranormal romance fans, I thought I should really post those old smaller reviews on here too, right?

I read this book back in February 2019 and today I’d like to share my original review.

So, on with my thoughts about…

Switching Hour (Magic and Mayhem #1) by Robyn Peterman

Released from the magic pokey and paroled with limited power is enough to make any witch grumpy.

However, if you throw in a recently resurrected cat, a lime-green Kia and a sexy egotistical werewolf, it’s enough to make a gal fly off the edge.

Not to mention a mission…with no freaking directions.

So here I sit in Asscrack, West Virginia trying to figure out how to complete my mysterious mission before All Hallows Eve when I’ll get turned into a mortal.

The animals in the area are convinced I’m the Shifter Whisperer (whatever the hell that is) and the hotter-than- asphalt-in-August werewolf thinks I’m his mate.

Now apparently I’m slated to save a bunch of hairy freaks of nature?

If they think I’m the right witch for the job, they’ve swallowed some bad brew.

A Quick Entertaining Read

Although I enjoyed reading this book – it was good – the way the characters behaved and how they talked to one another I could well do without. There are a lot of fashion and pop culture references that I didn’t get and I didn’t really like our heroine and her continued nicknames. So although it wasn’t all niggles and frustrations, there were enough to mean that I won’t be buying any more of this series. This light-hearted paranormal story may not have hit the spot for me, but over 2,500 Goodreads members gave it a rating of 4 or 5 stars.

I would like to just add that I downloaded the narration of this book and I was impressed with Stephanie Riggio‘s performance; she is really good and I would buy books narrated by her in the future.

Buy SWITCHING HOUR (or the rest of the series) in print, ebook and audio formats through the usual sources, including:

Amazon UK ¦ Amazon US ¦  The Book Depository ¦ Audible

(The ebook is currently FREE on Kindle!)

(I am part of Amazon , The Book DepositoryFoyles Book Shop, Audible and Waterstones affiliate programmes, which means when you use those links to buy a copy of this book, I will get a (very) small % from the sale.)

Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to read my mini review.

I hope I’ve sparked your interest in this one and will add it to your ever growing TBR pile. 😉

Bye for now,

Flora x
