Mini Review: Switching Hour (Magic and Mayhem #1) by Robyn PetermanMy Rating:
Title: Switching Hour by Robyn Peterman
Series: Magic and Mayhem #1
on 1 September, 2015
Genres: Adult Paranormal Romance, Paranormal Romance (PNR)
Length: 4 hours 34 minutes
No. of Pages: 220

Released from the magic pokey and paroled with limited power is enough to make any witch grumpy. However, if you throw in a recently resurrected cat, a lime-green Kia and a sexy egotistical werewolf, it's enough to make a gal fly off the edge.

Not to mention a mission...with no freaking directions.

So here I sit in Asscrack, West Virginia trying to figure out how to complete my mysterious mission before All Hallows Eve when I’ll get turned into a mortal. The animals in the area are convinced I'm the Shifter Whisperer (whatever the hell that is) and the hotter-than- asphalt-in-August werewolf thinks I'm his mate. Now apparently I'm slated to save a bunch of hairy freaks of nature?

If they think I'm the right witch for the job, they've swallowed some bad brew.

Last year, I came to the decision that mini-reviews are the way forward for this book blogger. 😉 I’ve already just been writing a paragraph or two for my Amazon and Goodreads reviews for the last few years – especially when it’s a book with thousands of reviews already. However, as I want to build up my blog to be THE place to go for paranormal romance fans, I thought I should really post those old smaller reviews on here too, right?

I read Switching Hour back in February 2019 and today I’d like to share my original review.

So, what did I think about Switching Hour?

A Quick Entertaining Read

Although I enjoyed reading this book – it was good – the way the characters behaved and how they talked to one another I could well do without. There are a lot of fashion and pop culture references that I didn’t get and I didn’t really like our heroine and her continued nicknames. So although it wasn’t all niggles and frustrations, there were enough to mean that I won’t be buying any more of this series. This light-hearted paranormal story may not have hit the spot for me, but over 2,500 Goodreads members gave it a rating of 4 or 5 stars.

I would like to just add that I downloaded the narration of this book and I was impressed with Stephanie Riggio‘s performance; she is really good and I would buy books narrated by her in the future.

Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to read my mini review.
