Friday Finds

Friday Finds – Adding to your TBR piles and Book Blogger Hop

Hello Avid Readers,

I hope you’re ready for another Friday Finds post! My fellow bloggers have been happily devouring lots of books this week, filling my inbox with some great reviews.  😉 I’ve enjoyed being part of the Book Blogger Hop meme (hosted by Billy @ Ramblings of a Coffee Addict) so I’m doing it again this week and my answer to this week’s question is at the bottom of this Friday Finds post.

If you are one of my lovely new followers let me just take a moment to explain what my Friday Finds posts are all about. I like to read, my favourite genre is paranormal romance but I’ve also been known to curl up with the odd urban fantasy or paranormal cozy mysteries too. But it’s a big wide literary world out there and I decided back in January that you, my dear followers, might be interested in the reviews about books from other genres to help you find your next favourite book. Ta!Da! My weekly Friday Finds post was born.

Here are some non-paranormal romance books that fellow book bloggers enjoyed reading (in no particular order).

New Release & Review – Torian by Eden Summers from A British Bookworm’s Blog

Jo is a fellow Brit who loves reading but unlike me she reads across the genres and is continually sharing new releases with her followers. She is spreading the reading love and I guarantee that you’ll find something that you’ll want to read! Lol!

Siren Unleashed (Texas Sirens #7) by Lexi Blake & Sophie Oak from The Secret World of Book Lovers

Carla really does read all types of genres. Her reviews are very informative and she adds lots of links to help her followers to connect to the authors too. Her site also hosts cover reveals and blog tours and this book review is one of those.

The Blue Door Series by Pamela Brown from Avalinah’s Books

Evelina is a book blogger and reviewer who’s preferred genres are general fiction, fantasy and sci-fi, but she also reads non-fiction books on important topics like equality, disability, fair treatment of individuals. Evelina was really impressed by this book, both by the writing style and its content, and has gone on to read more in the series.

The Rogue of Fifth Avenue by Joanna Shupe from Caffeinated Reviewer

Kimberly is a self proclaimed audiobook junkie, avid reader and coffee drinker. She doesn’t limit herself to just reading one genre but reads books from young adult to hot and steamy romances and has a healthy love of a good horror or Zombie book. This first in series looks to have potential and Kimberly admits to have been caught out by a few unexpected surprises.

And last but by no means least, a blog that I’ve been following for quite a while but I don’t think I’ve featured on Friday Finds before, so I’m fixing that oversight right now!

Review: Why Mummy Doesn’t Give a **** by Gill Sims from book’d out

Shelleyrae is another fellow book-a-holic, but unlike me, you’ll find great reviews for books covering many different genres from this Aussie book blogger . 😉 This humorous contemporary read is the third book in the series that has tickled her fancy and Shelleyrae thought it was another easy, quick and fun read. Perfect for summer?

So, that’s my picks for this week. I hope you find a moment or two to click at least one of these reviews yourself – who knows you may just find your next favourite author!

This week, I’m taking part in the Book Blogger Hop meme again which is hosted by Billy @ Ramblings of a Coffee Addict. A question is posted each week, you answer the question and visit others blogs to see what their answers are. Easy!

We’ve got a double question this week:

1. Which is your favourite library (or which would you most like to visit)? (submitted by Nicki @ Nicki J. Markus/Asta Idonea)

We do have a local library in my town and it’s got a great reference section upstairs that I used almost weekly when I was building my family tree. I would love to visit The British Library in London, then there’s all the libraries as part of Oxford University, Cambridge, Aberdeen… oh my!

2. How often do you visit the library? (submitted by Elizabeth @ Silver’s Reviews)

I am embarrassed to admit that I don’t use my library at all any more.

Hope you have a good weekend and manage to read (or listen to) a great story.

Happy Reading!

About Me

I'm in my late forties, my interests are varied but since menopause hit a few years ago, I find myself becoming a "grumpy old woman" all too frequently - where has my infinite patience gone!?! Lol!
I bought a Kindle in the summer of 2013 and haven't stopped reading since. If you want to know more about me, check out my blog -
