Friday Finds – Book Reviews I Want To Share This Week

Hello my lovelies,

Welcome to another Friday Finds post – where are the weeks going?! My inbox has been packed with wonderful reviews from fellow bloggers and it was really tricky to choose from them.

If you are one of my lovely new followers let me just take a moment to explain. I like to read, my favourite genre is paranormal romance and I’ve been known to read urban fantasy and paranormal cozy mysteries too. But it’s a big wide literary world out there and I decided back in January that you, my dear followers, might be interested in the reviews about books from other genres. Ta!Da! My weekly Friday Finds post was born.

Here are some non-paranormal romance book reviews I enjoyed reading this week from the blogs I follow (in no particular order).

Do You Want to Start a Scandal by Tessa Dare Review from Elaine Howlin – Literary Blogger

Elaine’s reviews are always intelligent and easy to read plus her reading tastes are substantially more varied than mine. I love reading her reviews. Lol! Her blog is also full of beautifully composed photos.

An Anonymous Girl by Greer Hendricks, Sarah Pekkanen from Thrill Me. Chill Me.

Julie is definitely an eclectic reader, but psychological thrillers and mysteries seem to be her favourites. Her reviews are well written, informative and her writing style makes them very easy to read.

Indianapolis by Lynn Vincent and Sara Vladic from The Critiquing Chemist

Sarah’s reading material is diverse and her reviews are always intelligent and honest; this week it’s an audiobook that’s under her microscope. Not everything on Sarah’s blog is about books, she also posts about the places she’s travelled to and her experiences while there. As I’ve said before, Sarah Lockwood’s blog is one that I always make time to read.

And I my final choice this week is from a blogger that I’ve only just started following…

Fourty Rules of Love by Elif Shafak from Avalinah’s Books

Evelina is a book blogger and reviewer who’s preferred genres are general fiction, fantasy and scifi, but she also reads non-fiction books on important topics like equality, disability, fair treatment of individuals.

So, that’s my picks for this week. I hope you find a moment or two to click at least one of these reviews yourself – who knows you may just find your next favourite author!

Hope you have a good weekend and manage to read (or listen to) a great story.

Happy Reading!

I'm in my late forties, my interests are varied but since menopause hit a few years ago, I find myself becoming a "grumpy old woman" all too frequently - where has my infinite patience gone!?! Lol!
I bought a Kindle in the summer of 2013 and haven't stopped reading since. If you want to know more about me, check out my blog -

Awwww thank you so much! Yes, I don’t read a lot of paranormal but you can always find something in common even in the genres you don’t read often 🙂 and if you like urban fantasies, I can recommend the Peter Grant series by Ben Aaronovitch (which you’ve probably read…) and I also love the Daniel Faust series by Craig Schaefer! Have you read them? And also, for indies, dig in my blog for reviews for Spinning Silk and Shin – those are paranormal and they’re SO unique and amazing. I can truly recommend them!!

Thanks so much for sharing my review 🙂
