Hello, my lovelies. Today, not only am I crying over celebrating my daughter’s 19th Birthday but Flora’s Musings is celebrating Occult Day 2021!

I only learned about this special themed day myself a couple of years ago from a fellow blogger. I read Elaine’s Occult Day post and was amazed that I hadn’t heard about it before. So, last year I wrote my own Occult Day 2020 post and it’s now a permanent fixture on my blogging calendar.

What will I focus on for Occult Day 2021?

In honour of my daughter’s birthday, last year I focused on her favourite supernatural beings – 🧛 Vampires! 🧛 OK, OK they’re my favourite too. 😘 But this year, I thought I should choose another suitably occult-ish predator. Step forward the werewolf!

Now, as a reader of paranormal romance and urban fantasy, shapeshifters feature prominently on my shelves. Therefore, I’ve got some great books and series to recommend.

My Book Recommendations

Let’s start Occult Day 2021 with a really good standalone Lycan romance book. Of course, it was written by my favourite adult paranormal romance author – Felicity Heaton. 😘

Rescued from werewolves by the most breathtaking man she’s ever seen, Lauren is dragged into the fight of her life and a dark world she never knew existed. There, she discovers that she’s the latest reincarnation of a goddess and must drink the blood of her immortal protector, Julian, in order to reawaken and continue her three-thousand-year-old mission to defeat Lycaon, the original werewolf.

With the help of Julian and an organisation of people with supernatural abilities, Lauren fights for her life, their future and the fate of mankind against Lycaon and his deadly army, but can she succeed when Lycaon has killed all of her predecessors?

Can she crack the armour around Julian’s heart and seize her happily forever after with him? And can Julian bring himself to trust Lauren with the fragments of his heart after everything he’s been through?

If you prefer to get your teeth stuck into a series, 😘 I’ve got a few you can devour… ⬇

The first one I want to share with you is The Legend Of All Wolves. Author Maria Vale has taken the werewolf genre into a new and exciting direction with this series. I was blown away by these books.

The Legend Of All Wolves Series by Maria Vale

This unique werewolf series is set in the modern world. The beautifully, wild Adirondack Mountains of Northern America to be precise. The Great North Pack live there, hidden from humans, but it’s not just people that they have to be wary of.

It’s never too late to get your teeth stuck into this bestselling series. Click to read my reviews or buy the books yourself!

Buy The Legend of All Wolves series in print, ebook and audio formats from all the usual retailers, including:

Amazon UK ¦ Amazon US ¦ The Book Depository ¦ Audible ¦

For those of you who love historical fiction, I have a paranormal romance series for you. Written by T.S. Joyce, her Wolf Brides series is set in the wild west and another that’s free using your Kindle Unlimited subscription. But be warned, these are no Mills & Boom rose-tinted romances.

Wolf Brides by T.S. Joyce

  • Wolf Bride (Wolf Brides #1) (2014)
  • Red Snow Bride (Wolf Brides #2) (2014)
  • Dawson Bride (Wolf Brides #3) (2014)
  • Holiday Bride (Wolf Brides #4) (2019)

Or, read for free using your Kindle Unlimited subscription! 💜 🥳 💜

Another of my frequent recommendations is Lee County Wolves by Teresa Gabelman. These books have an adult feel, with grittier content and passionate love scenes too. I binge-read the lot over a week because they are all in Kindle Unlimited!

Lee County Wolves by Teresa Gabelman

Set in the same world as her The Protectors series, the Lee County Wolves are a pack to be reckoned with. Each book gives us a new romance. However, love never runs smoothly, so be prepared for some major obstacles before each pair get their HEA at the end of each book.

If you prefer your wolfishness without romance. I’ve just started a new amazing urban fantasy series by British author, Helen Harper. Check it out! ⬇

Wolfbrand by Helen Harper

The Wolfbrand series is a spin-off from Helen Harper’s Fireband Series. The Noose of a New Moon follows on from the events in Midnight Smoke, book 3 in the Firebrand series although it can be read separately.

Devereau Webb is a modern-day Robin Hood. Living in London he’s the boss of a small criminal gang. A rogue known to the police and loved by his crew and the lower echelons of London’s inhabitants. He thought he knew what he was doing when he chose to enter London’s supernatural society, but he’s quickly discovering that his new status isn’t welcome to everyone.

The Wolfbrand series can be bought in print, audiobook and eBook formats.

We’re always on the lookout for our next favourite read as book bloggers. However, if you’re anything like me, you also love to fill your home with bookish goodies too. Therefore, I had a little look at all the wolf-themed gifts on Etsy to share with you all today. Here are some of my favourites:

Thanks for visiting Flora’s Musings and celebrating Occult Day 2021 with me. I had lots of fun writing this post (and browsing Etsy 😉 ) and will definitely write another post next year!

Many of my favourite authors write fantastic stories about vampires, ghosts, werewolves and witches. Before you go, check out if YOUR favourite author is one of mine too. 😘

I'm in my late forties, my interests are varied but since menopause hit a few years ago, I find myself becoming a "grumpy old woman" all too frequently - where has my infinite patience gone!?! Lol!
