Fated to be together. Cursed to be apart.

Condemned by a blood mage as an act of revenge, Fenix will do anything to shatter the eternal cycle of losing his beautiful phoenix shifter mate whenever she falls for him again. As he hunts for a way to break the curse, he battles the fierce compulsion to find her latest incarnation, but a moment of weakness brings him to the last place she lived—and what he finds there changes everything.

When a wickedly handsome incubus attacks her partner, Evelyn does what any Archangel hunter would—she takes him down and takes him in. But there’s something about the alluring fae, something that teases at her lost memories, and the powerful pull she feels towards him has her falling dangerously under his spell and brings her to a life-shattering realisation.

Swept up in a tempest of danger and with a dark threat on the rise, can Fenix find the one who cursed them before fate steals his mate from him this time? Or will the soul-searing passion that blazes between them burn everything to ashes again to restart the cycle?

Inflamed by an Incubus is an adult paranormal romance novel in Felicity’s Eternal Mates series. The series is set in the same world as her London Vampires series. However, you don’t have to have read either to enjoy Inflamed by an Incubus.

What did I think about it?

Betrayal, Retribution, and a Love that Stands the Test of Time.

I’m already a BIG fan of Felicity’s writing style. I think I’ve mentioned this once or twice on the blog. 😉 It’s the way she creates a very believable paranormal world then fills it with an array of interesting characters. These characters are written with very real human foibles which brings them to life and makes them believable. THEN Felicity weaves their stories around a gripping plot that just draws me in.

I’ve been waiting for Fennix’s HEA since 2014!

Inflamed by an Incubus did not disappoint. I really liked that this paranormal romance wasn’t easy sailing for either of our characters who spent most of the time apart in separate places. Fennix and Evelyn both have a number of obstacles to overcome before the truth at the core of this tale can be revealed! We’d met Fennix before in Eternal Mates Book 3 – Tempted by a Rogue Prince – his personality and story captured my heart. I knew there was more to him than meets the eye – how right I was!

Evelyn is a worthy female protagonist to add to this series.

I enjoy a story more when the lead female character is intelligent, resilient and can look after herself. I wasn’t disappointed here. As an Archangel hunter, Evelyn can hold her own in a fight and shes intelligent and resourceful. She showed her true strength throughout this story; learning from her mistakes and being resilient when bombshell truths are uncovered. I really enjoyed learning about Evelyn’s life and getting to know her. Hopefully, she’ll pop up in future books.

Fantastic sexual chemistry and tension.

Felicity writes explicit sexual scenes with oodles of love which makes them feel very romantic. I think that it takes a very talented writer to accomplish this. The erotic interludes are balanced beautifully with heartfelt, poignant internal dialogue from our main romantic pair. The tender insights into Fennix and Evelyn’s inner fears, their doubts and the emotional turmoil throughout this book warmed my old romantic heart.

Existing Eternal Mates fans will love seeing returning series characters. 💚

This is the longest series on my shelves, however, each book in this series can be read as a standalone. However, I am always amazed that Felicity manages to subtly tie all of the books together. Each one of them seems to build on what’s gone before or tie into other books. For example, the secondary and supporting characters in Inflamed by an Incubus include Vail and Rosalind who got their happy ever after from Tempted by a Rogue Prince, Mackenzie and Hartt whose HEA book is Scorched by Darkness, Talon who got his happy ever after from Turned by A Tiger, and Kyter who’s book is Hunted by a Jaguar.

There was so much about this story I loved. 💚

It’s not all about the cameos, we were introduced to Evelyn’s partner at Archangel, Archer. What a great character – I’m looking forward to peeling away his layers… 😘 I loved the romantic gestures and the passion between Fennix and Evelyn, the edge-of-your-seat fight scenes, the tender/emotional scenes and the sprinkling of humour. I was captivated from the first page to the last and couldn’t stop reading! Plus, as with all of the books in this series, the romance aspect between Fenix and Evelyn is concluded by the end of the book in Felicity’s signature Happy Ever After style. No nasty cliffhangers wondering will they, won’t they. Woop! Woop!

Content Warning:

There are scenes of explicit sexual content and graphic violence in this book. Therefore, I’d only recommend it to adults who aren’t offended by scenes of this sort.

I’d recommend Inflamed by an Incubus to adults who love reading tales about overcoming obstacles, true love romance, and adventures with oodles of fire and passion.
