Mini Review: Chade (Elemental Paladins #3) by Montana Ash

Hello Avid Readers. Today I’m sharing my thoughts about Chade by Montana Ash. Book 3 in her highly addictive adult paranormal romance series, Elemental Paladins.

[book-info]

Montana Ash is an attending author at RARE19 in London, which is why I sought out her books in the first place. I can’t wait to meet her in person at the weekend.  🙂

FYI:

I only write full detailed reviews for the books I receive from authors, publishers and PR organiser (ARCs). The rest of my book reviews are in a mini format like this.

So, what did I think about Chade?

Another Gripping Paranormal Romance Story That I Couldn’t Stop Reading

As this is the only series that I’ve read by Montana Ash, I’m still feeling like a new fan. However, I thank my friend Nikki who brought Ms Ash’s writing to my attention.

Once again the story in this book just blew me away! I devoured it. I can say, with hand on heart, that I love Ms Ash’s writing style. The pace she sets for her story and the balance she creates in her gripping plot-lines. The characters she has created for this series are complex souls that exhibit all the traits that I crave; intelligence, camaraderie, humour and a predisposition to extoll soul deep love. This story brought out a myriad of emotions; fear, fury, yummy tingles and yes, I did blubber like a baby at times too (I won’t tell you how often or when) but I also chuckled out loud plenty of times too at the banter.

Chade is the third booking this series and focuses on the relationship between one of Max’s Paladins, Cali and a chade Max has eloquently named Dax. If you’ve read any of my reviews before, you will know that I enjoy a story more when the female main character is intelligent, resilient, resourceful, self-reliant and has plenty of gumption. Oh goodness me, Cali is an amazing female character she definitely ticked all my boxes from the very first moment she was introduced back in book 1 – Warden – and she also has that great sense of humour, sarkiness and innate sense of right and wrong that seems to be present in Ms Ash’s Elemental Paladins. Well the ones on the right side of Max anyway. 😉

Chade is an awesome book which is why I’ve rated it 5 stars. I’m happy to say that it didn’t end with the usual mid scene cut-off like I felt the previous books did. Yes there is a major hook to tempt you into continuing with the series but it isn’t an imminently perilous life-or-death situation. I’ve enjoyed Chade and the previous books so much that I have already bought the rest of this amazing series.

Content Warning:

This book has sexual scenes, violence, colourful vocabulary and expletives throughout the story. Therefore, I’d only recommend it to adults who are not offended by content of this sort.

I’d recommend Chade to adults who love stories about kickass heroines and damaged but honourable heroes. Passionate adult paranormal romances with story-lines about ingrained prejudice and fighting for what’s morally right.

I'm in my late forties, my interests are varied but since menopause hit a few years ago, I find myself becoming a "grumpy old woman" all too frequently - where has my infinite patience gone!?! Lol!
I bought a Kindle in the summer of 2013 and haven't stopped reading since. If you want to know more about me, check out my blog - www.florasmusings.com
