Mini Review: Ranger (Elemental Paladins #4) by Montana Ash

Hello Avid Readers. Today I’m sharing my thoughts about Ranger by Montana Ash. Book 4 in her adult paranormal romance series, Elemental Paladins.

[book-info]

Montana Ash was one of the attending authors at RARE19 in London. Although I still haven’t finished reading this series like I had wanted to, I loved meeting her. She’s so nice.  🙂

FYI:

I only write full detailed reviews for the books I receive from authors, publishers and PR organiser (ARCs). The rest of my book reviews are in a mini format like this.

So, what did I think about Ranger?

The Reveals In This Paranormal Romance Kept Me Gasping In Surprise

This series has turned me into a Montana Ash fan. I thank my friend Nikki who brought Ms Ash’s writing to my attention.

Once again the story in this instalment blew me away and had me feeling lots of emotions! Devouring it quickly. I love Ms Ash’s writing style and the pace she sets her plot. The balance she creates in her gripping stories between heartfelt emotion, action and humour is wonderful. I love that the characters she has created in the Elemental Paladins world are complex souls. They exhibit all the traits that I crave; intelligence, camaraderie, humour and a predisposition to love unconditionally.

As I have already mentioned, Ranger brought out a myriad of emotions; fear, fury, yummy tingles and yes, I did blubber like a baby once again (no, I won’t tell you how often or when so stop asking) but I also smiled and chuckled out loud plenty of times too, usually at the banter between the members of Max’s rather unique Order. 😉

Ranger is the fourth book this series and focuses on the relationship between one of Max’s Paladins, Lark and a stoic Ranger, Ivy. I was already a big fan of Lark before reading this book but and although I really like the kickass Ranger, I didn’t fall head-over-heels in love with Ivy, like I did with the other female characters due to her stoic, reserved personality, however I did fall in love with the romance between Lark and herself and certainly enjoyed the ride. 😉

Ranger is a fantastic book and I would have rated it 5 stars if it hadn’t been for the way it ended. Cliffhanger much Ms Ash!! *tut*tut* Luckily, I have already bought the rest of this amazing series so don’t have to wait to find out what happens next.

Content Warning:

This book has sexual scenes, violence, colourful vocabulary and expletives throughout the story. Therefore, I’d only recommend it to adults who are not offended by content of this sort.

I’d recommend Ranger to adults who crave stories about kickass heroines and damaged but kindhearted heroes. Passionate adult paranormal romance genre with story-lines about over-coming the past and prejudices but still fighting for what’s right.

I'm in my late forties, my interests are varied but since menopause hit a few years ago, I find myself becoming a "grumpy old woman" all too frequently - where has my infinite patience gone!?! Lol!
I bought a Kindle in the summer of 2013 and haven't stopped reading since. If you want to know more about me, check out my blog - www.florasmusings.com
