Mini Review: Reckoning (Elemental Paladins #7) by Montana Ash

Hello Avid Readers. Today, I’m sharing my thoughts about Reckoning by Montana Ash. The final book in her highly addictive adult paranormal romance series, Elemental Paladins.

[book-info]

Montana Ash was one of the attending authors at RARE19 in London. It was the first ever book signing event that I’d been to. I loved meeting her, getting the chance to chat and reading this series. Isn’t it wonderful when you find a new favourite author who actually turns out to be a nice person too.  🙂

FYI:

I only write full detailed reviews for the books I receive from authors, publishers and PR organiser (ARCs). The rest of my book reviews are in a mini format like this.

So, what did I think about Reckoning?

An Empowering Finale To This Addictive Adult Paranormal Romance Series.

Once again the story in this final instalment of The Elemental Paladins series kept me hooked. I couldn’t put it down!

This series has cemented Montana Ash as one of my favourite authors. I’m a big fan of her writing style, the way she crafts her stories and the prose she uses. I love the pace that she sets in her plots and the balance she creates. Her stories have enough heartfelt emotion, action and humour to keep me hooked. I love that the characters she created in the Elemental Paladins world are complex souls, avoiding well used stereotypes. They exhibit all the traits that I crave such as intelligence, camaraderie and humour. While also having a predisposition to love unconditionally even when they’re damaged and flawed by their life experiences. Axel had already found a place in my heart from the previous books but Celeste quickly earned my admiration, respect and love too.

Thankfully, Reckoning brought out a mix of emotions which is always a good sign. Fear, fury, indignation, yummy tingles and I did blubber like a baby. However, I also smiled and chuckled out loud plenty of times too, usually at the banter between the members of Max’s rather unique Order. 😉

Reckoning is the seventh and final book in this series.

While the central romance between Axel and Celeste plays out, other story threads continue in the background. As expected we see some major threads neatly tied off and our questions answered satisfactorily. However, Amelia confirms at the end of the book that she’s more stories to tell within the same world.

Content Warning:

This book has sexual scenes, violence, colourful vocabulary and expletives throughout the story. Therefore, I’d only recommend it to adults who are not offended by content of this sort.

I’d recommend Reckoning to adults who love adult paranormal romance stories about kickass heroines and damaged heroes. Especially those with story-lines about the bonds of true love, over-coming insurmountable odds and fighting for those you love despite the costs.

I'm in my late forties, my interests are varied but since menopause hit a few years ago, I find myself becoming a "grumpy old woman" all too frequently - where has my infinite patience gone!?! Lol!
I bought a Kindle in the summer of 2013 and haven't stopped reading since. If you want to know more about me, check out my blog - www.florasmusings.com
