Monthly Wrap Up

My January 2022 Monthly Wrap Up – New Year, Bookish Goals, & Fun!

Hello, my lovelies and welcome to my January 2022 monthly wrap up post.

What have I been up to this month?

Going back to work after the Christmas holidays is always tough! 😝 Is it bad that I’m counting the weeks until half term? 😘

Coronavirus COVID-19 is still lurking about and is set to stay with us permanently. Here in the UK, our immunisation programme has been highly successful. Over 72% of us have now been fully vaccinated (me included!) WoopWoop! The UK government are now looking at how we can “live with Covid” with National restrictions having been lifted.

In bloggish news…

Updating my older posts is an ongoing process. A bloggers work is never done! Lol! However, it hasn’t been a priority these past few months due to my migraines. All of the reviews on the blog are SEO friendly. Thank you Yoast SEO plugin. 😉 However, there are still some older ones that I need to add to the UBB plugin.

This year, Pages Unbound is hosting a challenge to support and promote book bloggers through sharing posts, commenting on posts, and otherwise recognizing book bloggers. If you would like more information on how it works or how to join in, read the introduction post here.

We can do the tasks in any order, but January’s “official” task was to Find 10 New-to-You Bloggers (Not Necessarily New in General) and Give Them a Shout Out. We could do this by writing a blog post about them, sharing a Twitter thread, or doing anything else to show your support.

The 10 bloggers I gave a shout out to were:

  1. Buffy’s Ramblings: Buffy is a writer and avid reader with similar tastes to my own.
  2. From The TBR Pile: Kari and Autumn are avid readers who share their thoughts about multiple genres, but I’m especially interested in their paranormal and fantasy reviews.
  3. Rosie Amber: I discovered her through this challenge, and I love that she also is super excited about supporting and promoting other bloggers.
  4. Quibbles and Scribbles: Meagan has lots of interesting posts about films, books, and TV shows on her bookish blog.
  5. Rebbie Reviews: I started this blog as we were part of the same book tour this month. Check out this blog for some great writing on SFF and horror.
  6. A Literary Escape: Celeste is another blogger I found while on a blog tour. Although I don’t read all of the same geners as she does, I like reading her thoughts about the memoirs she reads.
  7. The Irresponsible Reader: I love this blog! How had I not read his reviews before. I love his sense of humor and writing style.
  8. JenJenReviews: Her blog features book tours, book reviews, author interviews, and more.
  9. Geek Declassified: Another blog I found through a book tour. Crystina is a fellow fantasy lover but she reviews a more varied collection of genres than I do!
  10. Tales from Absurbia: John’s reviews are always a pleasure to read. He has a passion for fantasy and resides in Middle Earth.

Audiobooks have become my main format since reducing my screen time last year. I amazingly hit the staggering level of Over-Achiever (Power Listener) 75+ listens! I’m going for that again this year. Will I make it? Check out my Audiobook Challenge 2022 page and find out.

I’m linking up to The Sunday Post – a weekly meme hosted by the lovely Kimberly @ Caffeinated Reviewer.

I'm in my late forties, my interests are varied but since menopause hit a few years ago, I find myself becoming a "grumpy old woman" all too frequently - where has my infinite patience gone!?! Lol!
I bought a Kindle in the summer of 2013 and haven't stopped reading since. If you want to know more about me, check out my blog -

You’ve got to remember, Wendy, that America is huge compared to the UK, so it’s bound to take longer. As long as you take all the necessary precautions to keep safe, that’s all you can do.
