Quote from Covet
“Death was not something that Javier was looking for but knowledge that it awaited him should he break the law hadn’t stopped the fierce heat of desire from gripping him the moment she had arrived at the London theatre two years ago, sent to work by her master.”
My Overall Rating: 5/5
Plot: 5/5 – Flow: 4/5 – Character Development: 4/5 – World Building: 5/5

Covet is a paranormal romance novella (approx 148 pages). The first story in Ms Heaton’s dark, sinful and seductive erotic series, London Vampire Series. This addictive series features the sexy vampire owners and managers of London’s premier vampire erotic theatre, Vampirerotique; Javier, Callum, Andreu, Payne, Antoine and Snow; each book focus on the romance of one man and the woman who brings him to his knees and claims his heart.
I hate spoilers. So when I write a review, it’s more about the author’s style rather than what happens in the book.
They’ve burned for each other for two years, the forbidden attraction between them growing each night. Now resisting the sinful desires of their hearts is becoming impossible.
Javier knows better than to succumb to his hunger for Lilah. The mortal female belongs to a powerful aristocrat patron of Vampirerotique, the theatre he runs with three other vampires. A single touch is all it would take to break the sacred law of his kind, sentencing himself to death, but his passion for her has become too fierce to ignore and he will risk everything to make Lilah his.
Lilah has fought her desire for Javier since arriving at his theatre as a servant but each glance he has stolen, his eyes promising pleasure that will satisfy her longing for him, has chipped away at her defences and she can no longer deny her need and her forbidden feelings for the powerful vampire male.
When they find themselves alone in a private box during one of the erotic performances, will they surrender to their passion and live out their wildest fantasies in a night of wicked pleasure or will the threat of Lilah’s master keep them apart forever?

I’m already a huge fan of Ms Heaton’s writing style; it’s the way she creates a very believable paranormal world and then fills it with complex, multifaceted characters and then weaves their stories with such depth that it just draws me in. Although Covet is a novella, it’s by no means lacking in substance.
I definitely enjoy a story more if the lead female character is intelligent, resilient and has plenty of gumption.
I wasn’t disappointed here. Oh my, Lilah was all of these and more; to punch a vampire much stronger than her to protect those she cares for?! You’ve gotta give her balls for that!
As I’ve said before, one of the reasons why I love Ms Heaton’s books so much is how she makes the most explicit sex scenes very romantic (I think that it takes a very talented writer to accomplish this), the erotic liaisons in this novella are balanced with beautifully written romance and poignant internal dialogue from Javier and Lilah; the tender insights into their inner fears and emotions throughout this book was heart-warming to read.
I loved Covet because it’s an uplifting story of soul saving love with titillating passion but also had me holding my breath during an amazing fight scene and a well deserved HEA ending in Ms Heaton’s signature style.

There wasn’t a single page in this addictive novella that I didn’t love.

What an amazing paranormal romance novella.
It’s got everything that I’m looking for in a great story; action, romance, passion and plenty of well written steamy sex scenes. Couldn’t stop reading this book!
As with all of Ms Heaton’s books, due to the graphic violence and explicit sexual content, I’d recommend this book to adults who are not offended by content of this nature who are fans of relationship and romance stories with a bit of fire and passion.

I haven’t heard about this author before. I’m glad you liked this book so much. It really sounds like an interesting read!
Felicity Heaton’s Vampire Realms romance series was one the first ebooks I downloaded after buying my Kindle and she’s still one of my favourite authors now. A lot of her 1st in series ebooks are frequently free on Amazon *hint*hint* 😉
