Flora Reviews…. Today, I’m sharing my thoughts about Desert Bound by Elizabeth Hunter. The second full-length book in her paranormal mystery series, Cambio Springs.

What’s this book about?

Desert Bound is an adult paranormal romance novel (approx 280 pages) in Elizabeth Hunter’s series, Cambio Springs Mysteries.

Welcome to Cambio Springs! Population? Well, you could say that it… varies. In this small desert town, secrets bubble up from the desert floor, and history is written on the canyon walls. Seven friends will gather at the crossroads, because in Cambio Springs, everything—and everyone—changes. In a town populated by shape shifters, tradition and loyalty hold the community together, but when change comes from the outside, secrets are revealed, friendship is tested, and more than a few claws come out.

The Synopsis:

Can you turn the clock back on your first love? Would you even want to try?

Alex McCann and Teodora “Ted” Vasquez left Cambio Springs together. Ted came back. Alex didn’t.

Now, years later, the future alpha of the McCann wolves has returned with plans to bring new life to the dying desert community. Plans that could change everything for the isolated enclave of shapeshifters in the California desert. Some love the plan. Others hate it.

As the town’s doctor and one of the strongest daughters in the cat clan, Ted has her own concerns about exposing her community to outsiders. The two former lovers are at each other’s throats. And everyone is watching to see what happens.

But when murder once again strikes Cambio Springs, can they overcome their past to help the community they both call home? And can the love they shared once burn again when so many stand against it?

What did I think about it?

I’m already a fan of Ms Hunter’s books. Her writing style, the characters she creates, and the way she unfolds her stories to us. As the second full-length book in this series, it didn’t let me down. I was transported back to the unique desert town of Cambio Springs.

I really liked Desert Bound! What a passionate pair Ted and Alex are 😉 lol!

There are over 100 reviews about this book, I don’t think I can add anything new. All I’ll say is that this story made me laugh, cry and get rather tingly (if you know what I mean). Our protagonists certainly are the alpha pair.

I’m looking forward to reading the next book in this series Waking Hearts which will see the development of the “Cambio Springs as a resort” story arc while telling Ollie and Ali’s story.
