Review: Fantasy Lover (Hunter Legends #1) by Sherrilyn Kenyon

Hello Avid Readers. Today I want to share my thoughts about Fantasy Lover by Sherrilyn Kenyon. The first book that kicks off the Hunter Legends paranormal romance series.

The Hunter Legends Series (previously named the Entire Dark Hunterverse) has several series that tie-in and overlap the whole series. Those are:

  • Dark-Hunters series
  • Dream-Hunters series
  • Were-Hunters series
  • Hellchasers series
  • Lords of Avalon series
  • Dragons Rising Trilogy series

This series encompasses the entire Hunter Series. For the correct reading order, please visit the author’s site.

I picked up this book because the author, Sherrilyn Kenyon, will be attending RARE19 in London next month.

I’m trying to decided whether to continue writing full reviews or switch to a shorter version. This is a mini review. 😉 However, I’ll always write full detailed reviews for the books I receive from authors, publishers and PR organiser (ARCs).

So with that in mind, onto my thoughts about…

Fantasy Lover (Hunter Legends #1) by Sherrilyn Kenyon

It might sound like a man’s favorite fantasy – to live forever, destined to be the lover of thousands of women. But for Julian of Macedon, it’s a nightmare. Once he was a proud Spartan general; now he’s a love-slave, his essence magically held captive in a book, cursed to spend all eternity pleasing women. Then, one day, Grace Alexander summons Julian to fulfill her passionate dreams – and sees beyond the fantasy to the man himself.

Long years as a sex therapist, listening to other people’s bedroom problems, have taken a lot of the fun out of the physical side of love for Grace. But with or without sex, the rules of the enchantment cannot be changed – Julian is hers for the next month. And, as their time together slips by, Julian and Grace find more to share than sympathy and conversation and they begin to wonder if love might be within their grasp. That leaves only one question. Is love enough to break a 2,000-year-old curse?

An Amazing Adult Paranormal Romance That I Couldn’t Stop Reading.

Why haven’t I ever read this before?! I loved Ms Kenyon’s writing style; the prose she used, the pace of her plot, the twists and turns and how she concluded all the various aspects of this tale.

When reading this genre, I need my female main character to be intelligent, resilient, resourceful, self-reliant and have plenty of gumption; Grace ticked every box and more. She was a beautiful soul with a wonderful wit. Julian was a male that ticked all my boxes too; he had depth and deserved the love that Grace had for him.

Due to the sexual content, I would recommend this book to adults who are not offended by scenes of this type who enjoy romance stories about the complexities of family relationships, insurmountable odds and soul saving love.

I can’t wait to read more from Ms Kenyon.

Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to read my mini review. I hope I’ve sparked your interest in Fantasy Lover and that you add it to your wish list.

Bye for now,

Flora x
