Title: Hounded by Kevin Hearne
Series: The Iron Druid Chronicles #1
Published by Del Rey on 3 May, 2011
Genres: Urban Fantasy
Length: 9 hours 42 minutes
No. of Pages: 304
Atticus O’Sullivan, last of the Druids, lives peacefully in Arizona, running an occult bookshop and shape-shifting in his spare time to hunt with his Irish wolfhound. His neighbors and customers think that this handsome, tattooed Irish dude is about twenty-one years old—when in actuality, he’s twenty-one centuries old. Not to mention: He draws his power from the earth, possesses a sharp wit, and wields an even sharper magical sword known as Fragarach, the Answerer.
Unfortunately, a very angry Celtic god wants that sword, and he’s hounded Atticus for centuries. Now the determined deity has tracked him down, and Atticus will need all his power—plus the help of a seductive goddess of death, his vampire and werewolf team of attorneys, a bartender possessed by a Hindu witch, and some good old-fashioned luck of the Irish—to kick some Celtic arse and deliver himself from evil.

Last year, I decided that mini reviews were the way forward for this particular book blogger. 😉 Consequently, I only write full detailed reviews for the books I receive from authors, publishers and PR organisers (ARCS).
Today, I want to share my thoughts about a book I first read back in the spring of 2018 …
So, what did I think about Hounded?
A Great Start To This Popular Urban Fantasy Series.
There was nothing about this book that I didn’t love!! I found the writing style easy to read, the story never left me feeling confused and kept me hooked.
The characters are complex with tales and histories of their own (something I look forward to learning more about as I read more in this series) and the relationships between them very believable.
The story unfolded at a good pace, never giving us any more information than our hero, Atticus, had which meant that we journeyed with him, never really knowing who was friend or foe or when or where the next attack would strike.
This is the first book in the Iron Druid Chronicles. However, there’s no cliffhanger at the end. Therefore, it could be read as a standalone title. But, I can’t wait to see what trials & adventures Atticus O’Sullivan has to face next!!
Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to read my thoughts about Hounded. I hope I’ve sparked your interest and that you add it to your towering TBR piles. 😉
