Hello fellow Urban Fantasy fans. Today, I’m sharing my thoughts about How To Break An Undead Heart by Hailey Edwards. Book 3 in her bestselling urban fantasy series, The Beginner’s Guide To Necromancy.
Last year, I decided that mini reviews were the way forward me and my blog. 😉 Consequently, I only write full detailed reviews for the books I receive from authors, publishers and PR organiser (ARCs).
So with that in mind, today, I want to share my thoughts about…

The Beginner's Guide to Necromancy, Book 3
Grier finally has the one thing she’s always wanted: Boaz Pritchard. Too bad her dream boyfriend is keeping her up nights, just not in a sweaty or fun way. Boaz has dialed down the Southern charm and stopped returning her calls. His job forces him to keep secrets, but his radio silence is cranking up her suspicions. He’s a shameless flirt, but he’s her shameless flirt…right?
Soon an attack on Woolworth House leaves her with bigger problems than he loves me, he loves me not. Vampires are on the prowl, and they aren’t the only predators circling. A new threat has emerged, one with blood rights to Grier. With enemies closing in on all sides, she must choose her allies, and the decision could make or break her…and her heart.
Warning: This book contains a buttload of zombie parakeet poop. Like grab a poncho and thank me later. Watch out, y’all. It’s about to hit the fan. Hearts will break, and heads will roll. Literally.

So, what did I think about How To Break an Undead Heart?
This is only the third book I’ve read by Hailey Edwards but I’ve enjoyed every one and so can confidently call myself a fan. I find her writing style very easy to read; her story-lines keep me hooked, I find the world that she has created for this series fascinating and I love that the characters have multifaceted personalities that feel totally believable even though many are not even human. Ms Edwards got me feeling sorry for a house and crying! A house!! 😉
While I’m on the subject of characters, those of you who have read my reviews before will know that I crave heroines who are intelligent, resilient, resourceful and have plenty of gumption. Grier Woolworth is definitely evolving and growing as this series progresses; she has what I look for as well as the potential for so much more and her sense of humour makes me chuckle.
As this is only the third book in a completed 6 book series. Therefore, some mysteries have been solved while we are still left with more unanswered questions than you can shake a hamster at. However, don’t panic. We are not left with a life-or-death-peril-cliffhanger-esque situation at the end of this book. However, I will be popping over to my Kindle Unlimited account and downloading the next book as soon as I finish typing this review as I am emotionally invested in our protagonist
