Hello my lovelies. Today I want to share my thoughts about Night Pleasures by Sherrilyn Kenyon. The second book in the Hunter Legends paranormal romance world.
The Hunter Legends Series (previously named the Entire Dark Hunterverse) has several series that tie-in and overlap the whole series. Those are:
- Dark-Hunters series
- Dream-Hunters series
- Were-Hunters series
- Hellchasers series
- Lords of Avalon series
- Dragons Rising Trilogy series
This series encompasses the entire Hunter Series. For the correct reading order, please visit the author’s site.
I picked up this book because the author, Sherrilyn Kenyon, will be attending RARE19 in London later this month.
I’m trying to decided whether to continue writing full reviews or switch to a shorter version. This is a mini review. However, I’ll always write full detailed reviews for the books I receive from authors, publishers and PR organiser (ARCs).
So with that in mind, onto my thoughts about…
Night Pleasures (Hunter Legends #2) by Sherrilyn Kenyon
The Dark-Hunters are ancient warriors who have sworn to protect mankind and the fate of the world is in their hands. . .
He is solitude. He is darkness. He is the ruler of the night. Yet Kyrian of Thrace has just woken up handcuffed to his worst nightmare: An accountant. Worse, she’s being hunted by one of the most lethal vampires out there. And if Amanda Devereaux goes down, then he does too. But it’s not just their lives that are hanging in the balance. Kyrian and Amanda are all that stands between humanity and oblivion.
Let’s hope they win.
An Adult Paranormal Romance That Had Me Gripped!
I am really kicking myself now; why haven’t I ever read this series before?! I love Ms Kenyon’s writing style; the prose she uses, the pace of her plots, the twists & turns and how she concludes all the various aspects of her tales while still leaving some tantalising threads that lure you to keep reading.
When reading paranormal romance, I need my main female character to be intelligent, resilient, resourceful, self-reliant and have plenty of gumption; Amanda certainly had all of these traits and more. She was a beautiful soul, empathetic, loving and had a wonderful wit. Kyrian was a male that ticked all my boxes too; he was damaged, loyal to a fault, had depth and deserved the love that Amanda had for him.
Due to the explicit sexual content and graphic violence, I would recommend this book to adults who are not offended by scenes of this nature who enjoy romance stories about the complexities of relationships, about trust, loyalty and betrayal and of course, insurmountable odds and soul saving love.
I have already bought two more paperbacks in this series and can’t wait to read them.
Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to read my mini review.
I hope I’ve sparked your interest in this book and added to your every growing TBR pile. 😉
Bye for now,
