Less than six months ago my life was twisted and flipped on its side. Things have changed so much I barely recognize myself anymore.
I am no longer an Enforcer.
I am no longer a Witch.
I no longer hate the Fae. (For the most part)
And the sex-on-a-stick-gorgeous-Fae? He isn’t really the Dark Prince.
I thought things couldn’t get worse. I was wrong.

I’ve decided that shorter, mini-reviews are the way forward for this particular book blogger. 😉 This means that I only write full detailed reviews for the books I receive from authors, publishers and PR organiser (ARCs).
On 21st September, I went to RARE19 in London. It was amazing and Amelia Hutchins was one of the attending authors. I’m so glad that I gave this new-to-me author a try. Not only am I really enjoying this adult fantasy series but I got to meet Amelia too! She’s funny, talented and amazingly generous to her fans. 💜
So on with my thoughts about…
So, what did I think about Seducing Destiny?
This addictive series has turned Amelia Hutchins from a new-to-me author to one of my favourites. I’m overjoyed to have found her. I love her writing style, the edge-of-your-seat pace she sets for her stories and the gripping plot lines that continually surprise me with their twists and turns. The characters that she has created for The Fae Chronicles – both protagonists and supporting cast alike – are complex, multifaceted beings that exhibit all the personality traits that I depend on to keep me interested.
While we’re on the subject of characters, if you’ve read any of my reviews before, you’ll know that I always enjoy a story more when the main female character is intelligent, resilient, resourceful, self-reliant and has plenty of gumption. Synthia (Syn) has all of these ingredients and also has the added cherry of a great sense of humour and a sarkiness that I love.
I loved that Seducing Destiny made me feel so many emotions; of course I blubbered like a baby 😉 but the tension in this story also had me holding my breath on the edge of my seat, the fighting got my adrenaline pumping and the sex scenes, wow, they were so hot and very erotic – the tingles were off the chart! What I loved about this book was that there are beautifully tender moments to balance the darkness that just warmed my old romantic heart.
Seducing Destiny is a great read (with no perilous life-or-death cliffhanger – woohoo!!) which is why I rated it 5 stars. I already own the rest of the books in this series and I am keen to see how the remaining story threads are resolved and what will happens next for our heroic Syn.
Talking about darkness, I’d like to remind you that some of the behaviour in this book may cause offence or trigger emotions some of you would prefer to avoid. The Fae Kingdom is an antiquated world of arranged marriages, concubines, sex as food and violent brutality – both in the dungeons and bedrooms.
Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to read this mini review. I hope I’ve sparked your interest in Seducing Destiny and you check it out.
Bye for now,
