Review: The Lasaran (Aldebarian Alliance #1) by Dianne Duvall

Today, I want to share my thoughts about a new sci-fi romance – The Lasaran. I know! I don’t usually read science fiction. However, one of my favourite indie authors decided to ventured into this genre, so where she goes I follow.

Last year, I decided that mini reviews were the way forward for this particular book blogger. 😉 Therefore, I only write full detailed reviews for the books I receive from authors, publishers and PR organiser (ARCs).

What did I think about The Lasaran?

An Amazing Start To This New Sci-fi Romance Series!

I’m already a big fan of Dianne Duvall’s books but sci-fi is not my usual reading genre. However, I couldn’t let The Lasaran pass me by and I’m so glad that I took a chance. I was drawn into this story and remained hooked throughout.

I love Dianne’s writing style, the language she uses and the way she paces her plots. Both main and supporting characters are written with a range of personalities without being stereotypical. Our leading lady here, Lisa, was perfect. She displayed all the traits that I need a protagonist to have: resilience, intelligence and gumption.

I added the narration by Kristen Potter who has narrated Dianne’s other books. Kristen’s performance was excellent: conveying just what the story needed, when it was needed. She is one of the best narrators that I’ve heard.

Although there were quite a few jumps along the story timeline, I understand that they were necessary to “get everything in”. I can’t wait to get back into space and join the Aldebarian Alliance now that the scene has been set.

Keep reading to find out more about Dianne Duvall and Kristen Potter.

I'm in my late forties, my interests are varied but since menopause hit a few years ago, I find myself becoming a "grumpy old woman" all too frequently - where has my infinite patience gone!?! Lol!
I bought a Kindle in the summer of 2013 and haven't stopped reading since. If you want to know more about me, check out my blog - www.florasmusings.com

Thank Mikky. I’m still not sure if I’d class myself as a sci-fi reader but I’ll definitely be reading this sci-fi series! Knowing your tastes in PNR and Urban Fantasy, I think you’d enjoy this one too.
