It’s paranormal women’s fiction for lovers of magic, mayhem, and a solid afternoon nap (when they can squeeze one in.)

Katherine wasn’t looking for anything extraordinary in her life. She had a job she loved, a husband she adored, and a home in the beautiful seaside town of Moonstone Cove.

Okay, yes, she worked too much and had fallen out of touch with all her friends, but that happened to everyone, right? And sure, she was feeling a little creaky in the mornings and couldn’t drink coffee after noon, but that was just life in middle age.

Four minutes was all it took for fate to run away with anything that resembled normal.

Now Katherine is trying to place mysterious psychic visions into her previously ordered life. She’s playing referee between a displaced Southern mama and a sarcastic mechanic with a chip on her shoulder. And her quiet life has been upended by a mysterious rash of violent acts by students at her school.

Thankfully, her new friends have powers of their own, and together they just might discover who or what has it in for the quiet citizens of Moonstone Cove.

Runaway Fate is the first book in the hot new paranormal women’s fiction series, Moonstone Cove by USA Today best-selling author, Elizabeth Hunter.

Runaway Fate is also another title in the new reading genre – Paranormal Women’s Fiction or PWF for short.

13 paranormal romanceurban fantasy and paranormal cozy mystery authors have teamed up to write books where the female protagonists are +40s. As a menopausal woman within spitting distance of the big 5-0, I’m overjoyed at this new genre. I can’t wait to fill my shelves with them all!

An Engaging Thriller To Kick Off A New Series!

I’m already a fan of Elizabeth Hunter’s books and love her writing style. Her stories tick all the boxes for me. An intelligent writing style that’s easy to read. Protagonists with personality traits that feel credible. A range of supporting characters that earn their place in the story. Plots and settings that feel believable – even when based in a paranormal world. And finally, a balanced mix of relationship, tension, action, humour and mystery in the plotline.

As a menopausal woman, I love that the Moonstone Cove series has older protagonists and supporting characters. About bloody time! Woohoo! However, I think that any adult reader can connect to the varied range of characters in this book. I loved the relationships featured in this story; our protagonist’s marriage to Baxter (it was beautiful and refreshing to see) and the evolving friendships between Katherine, Megan, and Toni.

I’d recommend Runaway Fate to anyone who enjoys stories about the value of strong, healthy friendships.

Those readers who enjoy thrillers with danger, twists and unexpected surprises. But who also crave second coming-of-age adventures for older, independent, capable women. And appreciate a generous helping of banter, humour and realistic issues for the over 40s within a paranormal mystery.

We’re treated to the first chapter of the next story in the Moonstone Cove at the end of this audiobook. I want to listen to Fate Actually – now!! Lol!

Keep reading to find out more about this series and its author.
