Top 5 Tuesday

Top 5 Tuesday – Main Males and Hunky Heroes!

Good morning my lovelies,

I had a great time last month joining with Top 5 Tuesday, a weekly meme hosted by Shanah @ Bionic Book Worm and thought I’d take part again this month too. Shanah comes up with the topics a month at a time so that we’ve got some thinking space. If you’re interested in participating in Top 5 Tuesday, all you have do is write up your post and pingback to one of Shanah’s posts. Make sure you pingback to her posts and not just her blog so she can add you to the list.

This week’s topic is…

I love this week’s fun top 5. I mean, who wouldn’t?!  😉

Our various “book boyfriends” is a hotly discussed topic amongst members on my favourite Goodreads group – My Vampire Book Obsession – the mods have created a discussion thread to handle the situation – Court of Wang and Thangs. Lol!

But what is my criteria for a character in a book to become elevated above the rest and kick start my drooling and fangirling?

Well, heroes can be as alpha as they want, curse until I blush on the bus, start fights and make crappy decisions to protect their mate and the people they care about. They can be broken, scarred, a picture of danger and darkness. They just can’t be ass-holes. I need my leading male characters to deserve the heroine who will pick up a shield that weighs twice as much as they do, just to protect him. My heroes need to admire, support and get turned on by the intelligence, resilience, self-reliance and gumption that the heroine has.

I have found some wonderful authors out there who create the sort of characters I crave, my male harem has been growing and I’ve got a fantastic collection of amazing book boyfriends. Trouble is, for this Top 5 Tuesday post…. I can’t stop at just 5 hunky heroes, I mean that just wouldn’t be fair to all the others…

So, I have decided to share some of my… *uhem* collection with you today but will group them by series.

Rune Witch Mysteries by Victoria DeLuis
Thomas Heart is a human and a master in the martial art of Krav Magna, he’s the long time boyfriend and then fiancé, to our heroine, Summer Daniels.
Trystan is an ancient dragon shifter who is gorgeous inside and out with a sharp intellect and an expect at fighting. He’s been there to help Summer and Thomas on their adventures and has even begun to have adventures on his own. (Exile – The Silure Dragon #1)

Southern Ghost Hunter Mysteries by Angie Fox
Sheriff Ellis Wydell is the black sheep of his family but that just means he’s kind, loyal, intelligent and has a strong moral compass with the obligatory good looks.

Practically EVERY male in the Eternal Mates Series by Felicity Heaton is absolutely my wet dream. I’ve whittled it down to; Commander of the Elves Royal Guard Bleu, deadly cold-hearted leader of the vampire legions Grave Van der Garde and the powerful but mad elf Prince Vail who have all had their stories told and found their soul mates. *sniff*

All of the male characters in the Immortal Guardians Series by Dianne Duvall make my heart skip a beat and the tingles travel to all the right places but if I had a gun to my head my favourite heroes would be: the antisocial Roland Warbrook, the black sheep of the family Sebastien (Bastien) Newcombe, ancient Celtic warrior Aiden O’Byran and powerful villain turned good guy Zach.

The Protectors Series by Teresa Gabelman is another series packed to the brim with amazing hunky heroes. There are currently 13 books in this fantastic series and I can honestly say I’ve drooled and hankered over every single hero in them. But if I have to chose it would be; VC Warriors Damon DeMasters the stoic decapitator, Jared Kincaid, wise-cracking and ass-kickin’ Sid Sinclair and big bad boss man Sloan Murphy.

My very first book boyfriend, Rafe from Felicity Heaton’s standalone 90 page novella Vampire for Christmas. *awwww* He’s my boyfriend standard that I consciously (or subconsciously) measure all heroes up against. He’s strong, intelligent, has killer instincts and a destructive and bloody past but can also be romantic, witty and will protect those he cares about with this last breath. Did I mention he’s gorgeous; tall, dark hair, piercing blue eyes… *swoon*

…and breathe ….

I'm in my late forties, my interests are varied but since menopause hit a few years ago, I find myself becoming a "grumpy old woman" all too frequently - where has my infinite patience gone!?! Lol!
I bought a Kindle in the summer of 2013 and haven't stopped reading since. If you want to know more about me, check out my blog -

I am with you on the definition of “males” as in curse etc but they have to deserve the heroine! This is perfectly summing everything up!
