Top 5 Tuesday – My F to J Favourite Reads

Good morning my lovelies,

I had a great time last month joining with Top 5 Tuesday, a weekly meme hosted by Shanah @ Bionic Book Worm and thought I’d take part again this month too. Shanah comes up with the topics a month at a time so that we’ve got some thinking space. If you’re interested in participating in Top 5 Tuesday, all you have do is write up your post and pingback to one of Shanah’s posts. Make sure you pingback to her posts and not just her blog so she can add you to the list.

This month Shanah is trying something different; each week instead of a topic, she wants us to post books that have titles that start with particular letters of the alphabet!

I have put on my thinking cap and trawled through my bookshelves to share with you those books that meet the required criteria and have earned a place on my Goodreads 5 Star Review shelf.

So without further ado, this week, we’re looking at…

As I mentioned above, each of these books has received a 5 star rating from me. Clicking on the image will take you to my review here on the blog with the full blurb, author links and purchase buttons.

F is for Forbidden Blood by Felicity Heaton

Forbidden Blood is a standalone paranormal romance novel (approx 272 pages) set in modern day London featuring those supernatural creatures of the night, vampires.

Although this book is set in the here and now, Ms Heaton has created a vampire world and society that reminds me of a past era – possibly 17th or 18th century where hierarchy and the rules of etiquette are a minefield for those not in the know.

G is for Guardian’s Bond (Ancient Ink #1) by Rhenna Morgan

Guardian’s Bond is the first book in a new paranormal romance series – Ancient Ink – by popular contemporary and fantasy romance author, Rhenna Morgan who has created a new twist to the shapeshifter genre – the Volán.

For decades, he’s been alone.
Now, she’s here. His fated mate.
His to win. To protect.
To provide for and pleasure.

H is for The Haunted Heist (Southern Ghost Hunter Mysteries #3) by Angie Fox

The Haunted Heist is a paranormal novel (approximately 264 pages) that would sit well in the ‘cozy mystery’ genre and is the third book in Ms Fox’s Southern Ghost Hunter Mysteries series; currently 8 novels and 3 novellas. This murder mystery tale is set in modern America – Sugarland, Tennessee to be exact – and features the town’s residents, both living and deceased.

I LOVE this whole series!!

I is for Invisible Warrior (The Protectors #11) by Teresa Gabelman

Invisible Warrior is the eleventh book (approx 259 pages) in Teresa Gabelman’s highly popular paranormal romance series – The Protectors – about an elite group of vampire warriors who work for the Vampire Council, policing their laws and protecting the innocent, whether human or those of their own race.

This story is set more than five years after the vampire race came out of the shadows and takes place in and around Cincinnati, USA and stars one the the funniest characters in the whole series, Steve.

J is for Jared (The Protectors #2) by Teresa Gabelman

Yes I know I’ve already featured a book from this series but it’s one of my favourites and Jared holds a special place in my heart too.

I loved that this is not just a fuzzy romance story, there are a few story arcs running through this book alongside the romance aspect between Tessa and Jared; the mystery of who’s turning the local adolescents into half breeds, Adam’s love life and Pam’s horrendous relationship with Kenny. Rather than feeling confused, I think that these additional plot-lines added a further depth to the book, they not only kept my little grey cells buzzing but kept the adrenaline going too.

Thank you for stopping by. Now you’ve read my post, why don’t you hop along to some of the other amazing blogs taking part in this week’s Top 5 Tuesday.

Don’t forget to leave a link to your Top 5 Tuesday post so I can visit your blog if you’re joining in the fun this week.

Enjoy the rest of your week.

Bye for now. x

I'm in my late forties, my interests are varied but since menopause hit a few years ago, I find myself becoming a "grumpy old woman" all too frequently - where has my infinite patience gone!?! Lol!
I bought a Kindle in the summer of 2013 and haven't stopped reading since. If you want to know more about me, check out my blog -
